Yes, I think 2004 is calling and wants its transfer rumour back.

United are, currently, a club in a death spiral. At best, they are in decline that will take a few years to address. At worst, they are approaching Fergie 1989 levels of uselessness.

We should be expecting to finish above them next season.
Hopefully we can soon start unsettling some of their players by putting insultingly low bids in for them.

I think the price tag the club put on Branthwaite will define if they really want to sell him.

If they say 80 mil or don't bother asking then youd think they really want him to stay
If they are willing to listen to offers of around 50-60 then i would say thats as good as inviting interest in him.

Also depends on the player, he might give us one more season under someone who resembles a manager now.

i'd be suprised if newcastle got that fee for him

a good striker no doubt but he's not mbappe
That fee was if they got into the CL, clearly they wouldn't want to sell him so would ask for a high fee, there has been more recent talk of bids around the £80m mark which is more realistic

I think he’s already a very good centre back, and that he will go on to be a great. There are only a few clubs in world football that could possibly afford him right now.

Extending his contract by one or two years, so that we could keep hold of him for a couple of more seasons would be ideal. However, I think top quality centre forwards are harder to come by, and in greater demand, than centre defenders.

Whoever wants Delap is going to be dealing with Manchester City and not Ipswich due to their buy-back clause. Coming to some arrangement with City, where they buy Branthwaite and we buy a young highly rated striker like Delap is feasible, and could possibly be a good move for everyone.
