Wouldn't surprise me if Arsenal pick him up on a free.

Let him pick up splinters in his back side for a year and sell for 20m?

There is no way that a free flowing “ footballing” side like Arsenal are having a cf that can kick a ball properly

On the one hand, his header against Palace - still up there with my best memories of Goodison. On the other hand, we shouldn't have been in that position in the first place - maybe we wouldn't have been, with a better striker.

I think he's a talented footballer, but he can't finish in a one on one, and he panics when the ball bounces to him in the six yard box. If he was going to learn how to overcome those issues, he would have done so by now. Could have been the heir to Harry Kane, but simply wasn't good enough. Nobody's fault, not his fault for not being Harry Kane, and it would have been good to pickup a few bob selling him, but he's off on a free now and I hope he gets a decent contract somewhere. But most of all, I hope he gets to play plenty of football and gets some joy from it.

Loved him as a character though. I'll never forget how many heads exploded when he did that magazine shoot in what looked like a girl's school uniform, and him and Tom dressing up in New York. Brilliant. Walk it like you talk it. He did more for tolerance and equality in the sport than a million rainbow laces, or a thousand takings of the knee.

Spot on. He may have got the vital header (didn't matter in the end) but has to take responsibility for his role in Everton being in that perilous position.

Bar the one season under Don Carlo, he is a perennial underachiever. He has got all the physical attributes but is not aggressive enough and is not a great striker of the ball. Time to move on.

He scored 13 and 16 league goals, it wasnt just 1 season. then he suffered injuries, then he was held hostage by a footballing terrorist.

Hes an elite Striker and will show it when the shackles are off.

I think he’s probably a 10 - 15 goal a season striker if he stays fit. Maybe more towards 15 plus in a good side. Would be nice for him to play a bit more under Moyes and see if he can rejuvenate him but that will be dictated by the contract offer and other offers he receives I guess. I did feel it was time to part ways but that was before Moyes came in and DCL seemed to get a lift.

I do think there are other good strikers out there and it won’t be the end of the world if he goes and we have money to spend.

I think you should check evertons top goal scorer list before you say hasnt panned out. We paid 1.5m for someone who's scored 70+ goals for us and scored some majorly important goals that kept us in the league. But yeah hasnt panned out...
Fine he panned out for his fee. Can't criticize Dom. Ignore the wages he was asking for.
