He put a protective arm round Liverpool's manager and their fans rather than around his own racially abused player.

Moyes is just looking for an easy time around Liverpool (the city) rather than dealing with a serious case of racial abuse of his own player.

If I were Doucoure Ild be right into his office this morning.
Yeah he’s got this one wrong here. Should have been briefed on what to reply with here instead of this fluff.

That’s the only clip I’ve seen of it. While I would have liked him to condemn any racism, he sounded to me just entirely focused on the actual footballing perspective. Clearly disappointed doucoure has got himself suspended and basically saying he shouldn’t have done what he did (he shouldn’t have but that doesn’t excuse any racism either).

Saying doucoure is fine, again I think is him focusing on the football side as he goes on to talk about the cards etc. I half expect he doesn’t want to comment as there is a police investigation.

Absolutely spot on.

He is a football manager, first and foremost. He would have gone into that press conference wanting to focus on football. All the other stuff can be, and is being, dealt with outside of a football managers press conference.

Seriously, wonder about the mental stability of certain posters. 1000%+ increase in post frequency, in this thread, after the press conference compared to the performance on Wednesday, of course I haven't done the maths but I expect this to be the case (although, if it is 0 posts about the performance then I guess it would only be a max of 100% increase).

Well it would have, wouldn’t it 😂
No, that was the whole point of my first post to you? You added 'context' but I said to you that even with that additional context it doesn't change the fact it's a clunky answer to the question, so whether I watched the whole press conference or just the clip would have made no difference, I still would have come to the same conclusion.

If it turned out that later in the press conference he'd said 'Look, racism in all forms is disgraceful and needs to be stamped out, we're supporting him through this but he shouldn't have to put up with and we all need to stand together and say enough is enough' then you could justifiably say that the Sky clip was out of context and you needed to see the whole thing. As it was, while the Sky clip didn't show every word, the overall impression it gives was exactly the same, so there was no need to have seen the whole thing.

As I said in the first place, it's not a massive deal and is likely to be more the fault of the comms team than the manager, but people saying we dropped the ball a bit are right in my opinion.

I wasn’t referring specifically to you. I’m referring to those who were incensed he didn’t address the abuse whatsoever, when he did, it just wasn’t in the 30 second clip they’d bothered to watch.

Just read sloth's presser on sky sports website. Sounds like a coordinated response from both clubs to try and calm things down. He said exactly what Moyes said. He said:

- Emotion got the better of him and he shouldn't have done it.

- He's proud of Curtis Jones standing up for his team, but again he shouldn't have done it.

- No mention of the racism aimed at doucoure.

no mention of the bottle being thrown either

Nothing wrong there.
Yeah, and I can’t believe some on here are using this as some kind of attack on Moyes. It’s pathetic and all it’s down to the fact they can’t admit they were wrong about him and the team. The fact is, this is under investigation and until everything is known he has probably been asked not to go into it too much, which is correct.
