Jesus he scored didn't he. I had forgotten. All I see is Tarks goal everywhere. For obvious reasons.

Must erk him a bit nonone is talking about Beto BETO???? Scoring in the derby.

Who would have thunk it.

Moyes takes over and the philosophy is - FEED him and he will score. Seem to have heard that before and it still works?!?!?!? Betoyak?
Well, this is it.

A striker, at the end of the day, is supposed to score goals. Beto has a good goal return per minutes played. All of this guff about holding the ball up misses the point. If the team is trying to get forward - as Moyes's Everton is - then, in the end, holding the ball up with his back to the goal is the least of it. Sticking it in the net when put through is what it's all about. We simply cannot afford to carry strikers who struggle with the basics: scoring when one-on-one. Non-negotiable.

Other aspects of the game are negotiable. But Beto, it seems to me, is reliable when he SHOULD score. They all miss gilt-edged chances, but he doesn't reliably miss the expected goals in the manner of other once-fashionable strikers at the club.

Of course, it also helps that he looks like he cares. His statements to the press also suggest he's a fairly sensitive soul who tries hard. That'll get you a long way with Evertonians.

I have often posted an image of Frank Spencer, replacing ‘oooh, Betty’ with ‘oooh, Beto’, implying a cartoonish, naive incompetence. Fully justified and understandable. But not any more.

When Beto is through on goal I'm confident he'll score, I'm not with DCL in the same scenario.
DCL is a great target man on his day but that is once every 5 games and he misses far too many chances for a PL striker.
Beto didn't suit Dyches system hence his poor return under him but Moyes knows how to get the best out of players by playing to their strengths, e.g through balls for Beto, he's worked with a lot of dross over the years and still got a tune out of them (Straqularis etc).

He's a different players now that we actually play balls in behind the defence and balls into feet, that's what he thrives off. He has 4 goals so far, its a tall order, but I would like to see him get to double figures in the remaining 14 games of the season, Ndiaye being injured and Doucoure being banned will affect how we set up though for the next few games, but hopefully we dont resort to just lumping it forward.

The 'foul' was nothing. Would have been scandalous if it had been disallowed for that.

That rat Robertson did one on Lindstrøm early in the first half, where he pushed him in mid air, that was miles worse and nothing given. Bunch of cry babies.

I think we were VERY lucky that only one camera angle, out of all of them in the ground, seems to have picked up the nudge! Konate mid leap and looked like he'd have won the header easily without the shove. Makes it even better for me - the Gods have spoken and they like Everton, confirmed. Makes no sense that non of the cameras had a clear angle, would've taken VAR 10 minutes to find it lol

Nah. It was fine. They're just a bunch of cry babies.
