2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

I find it pretty cringeworthy.

We've gone soft in our moderation approach, largely out of necessity the last few years, factoring in general Everton angst but come the new season that's a term we'd do well to use in search to sweep up.

"uses this word than 10 times" = "bin"
Make it an additional tier, you can use any word from the banned list £20 a month.

No chips, just observations.

Do remember, I'm allowed an opinion. Site admin or not. Clearly, i'm not really going to be banning people for using a word I don't like. But then, given you've been here since 2009, I'd like to think you know that. Otherwise why are you still here?

Obscure, presumably petty, snide remarks inferring biased moderating and comparisons to Elon Musk mean nothing without conviction. If you've got a complaint or criticism about how we moderate - speak up.

I've DM'd.

Copy Bluesky not Twitter. When you block someone on Bluesky they disappear completely *and* (here’s the best part) the people replying to the blocked person don’t show up either. So it’s not just one full page of “you blocked this person” then people saying “this completely contradicts your earlier post!” The person is completely gone and you can enjoy the site without their posts or the replies to their posts.

Of course that would hurt views and less views is less revenue so I’m not optimistic.

Let’s get a couple of things right, last season he didn’t ‘save’ us, we were comfortably safe even with the points deductions

Season before that, he had us on a run of 2 wins in 12 going into Bournemouth and we only had a chance there because Leicester had missed a penalty to go 3-1 up against us 4 games earlier which we got a point from, and 6 days earlier they were denied a win that would have made the last day redundant by a last gasp save by Newcastle’s keeper

Inappropriate Behaviour

Morning

Why has this thread not been locked?

Thanks

Like night and say watching this Everton side at Goodison compared to under Dyche..

I think Dyche definitely hit the end of the road and got out whilst he could with his rep pretty much intact for his next job. Obvious he'd hit his ceiling and done all he was capable of.

I was really fearful of seeing one of the worst seasons at home in our history for the last season at Goodison, but the last 4 games we've seen goals, attacking play, front foot football and a belter of an equaliser against the rs. We might not win them all but just to give the fans something to walk out the ground with a spring in their step is a huge change in mentality.

I've never been Dyches biggest fan but he gets credit in the bank for keeping the squad focused during those point deductions and I think in time he'll be seen as someone who put out a lot of fires and steadied the ship

One thing I'm certain of moving forward. If Moyes is backed in the transfer window and given 2 seasons, we'll be back in Europe in some form or other.

Perception is a weird thing. His last 6 results weren't even that bad.

Wolves W
Chelsea D
Arsenal D
City D
Forest L
Bournemouth L

Don't even think being beaten by Forest or Bournemouth is that calamitous given what they are doing this season - we were bossed by Bournemouth under Moyes last week.

Was the early season form and in hindsight the Bournemouth game at home - that lost a lot of the fan base. That was compounded week after week by pragmatic risk adverse football.
