Oh I agree - it’s not like he’s tantruming or being egotistical, but I found the dividing line he drew between “we” - whoever “we” are - and the recruitment team interesting.
Just wait, if he turns out to be decent, that line will disappear in a puff of smoke and ‘they’ will become ‘we’, quicker than you can say Anderson Silva de França.
In fact I’m eagerly awaiting it becoming ‘I’ or ideally ‘David Moyes thought be could bring something different’ in one of his pressers.

I assume hes marking his territory, he wont just go into KTs office and say "Im the Captain now", but he will be letting him know that he is the Daddy.

Always a fan of someone referring to themselves in the third person.

I imagine this will have to do with Davie Weir incoming?
I doubt there is anything to that rumour.

Moyes spent some time talking to a former player of his while in Brighton and immediately people think Davie Weir is the new DOF.

If Duncan or other former players are seen talking to the manager does that mean they are getting a job also?

I think he was reinforcing the message he had given at the previous press conference.
No money until the summer, looking hard for signings, will have to take whatever we get.

Which is completely nuts. You don’t let someone who has signed only a two and a half year deal, who could in theory be sacked within months if results are not forthcoming, have the major say in recruitment for the long term benefit of the club. People will say Thelwell is out of contract in the summer, but that is completely different. TFG will know whether Thelwell is staying or not beyond this summer. Besides, that’s Thelwell’s remit, a DOF should be left to do the recruiting based on a vision and structure of the club going forward. Not a manager who wants to recruit who he wants to fit his style when he could be replaced at any time with a different manager. If Moyes wasn’t told he would simply be the coach and wouldn’t have a major say in transfers, then he should have been.

Did Thelwell consult Dyche over O’Brien and Lindstrom? You’d have to say that’s very doubtful considering the minutes he gave them. We’re only now beginning to see the fruits of those recruits now the new manager is playing them. I get the argument that there’s no point spending big on a player if the current manager doesn’t fancy them and refuses to play them (see Dyche), so consult him by all means. But Moyes must never be allowed to have the power to make signings that don’t fit in with the director of football’s long term planning for the club.

In a proper organization, the DOF and manager are aligned on the type of players they want and use their combined knowledge to create the target list. If not, you get the situation with Dyche that they spend the limited money they had available on players like O'Brien that he didn't want to use.

Also, whoever makes the call on the manager should be consulting with the DOF to find the guy that matches the team they intend to build. Having a DOF that wants to win games 3-2 while the manager wants to play 1-0 games will not work out well.

Under Moist's predecessor charly was never getting even onto the bench on Saturday he had the 7 stages of Dycheness to get through
1. Acclimatizing
2. Getting on the Graaaaass
3. Getting used to the other players
4. Understanding the demands of this league
5. Gaining experience in training
6. Doing the hard yards to be ready
7. Understanding his defensive duties
8. Changing the narrative...

Nuts would be letting somebody else pick players for the manager like we did under Dyche.

Are we obligated to buy Charly or just got the first option?

Saw obligated to buy for £13mill somewhere but can’t find the article now?
