If he signs it and comes back to form, fair play to him. I think we should 100 percent move on, but I can understand why we would try to sign him with our lack of players on the (/sweatsnervously) roster next year. We need players in the team.

What I do hope- if Beto does indeed kill it and proves his worth, I hope Moyes rotates them when necessary and doesn't just pick Dom even when Beto would be the better option (or maybe we bring in another striker for that matter or Chermo shows something). Dom has his weaknesses and Beto has his.

Son of a....

Well, was good while it lasted, Id also be scrambling to sign a contract if I were him. By now hes come down to reality and realizes the number of teams that would pay him that numbers 1.
I don't like his indecision one bit. But he is already here. Having players already at the club opposed to paying massive fees to sign them is half the battle.

That would require significant improvement in his form and fitness record because right now you'd struggle to justify his wage on a free let alone on top of 20m fee.

You'd want to commit to 30m in wages to *maybe* get 20m?

He's amortisation neutral though, so cheaper then say buying another striker for say 30 mill mate.

Hes at that age you probably flip if you could to, maybe another year.

All good in theory, but our recent past is defined by counting down the minutes until mega contracts expire because we've had players on terms no one else would dream of matching. MAYBE we could turn some sort of profit, maybe not, but for me committing 30m in wages to an injury prone striker with the worst statistical finishing in the league would indicate no lessons learned.

His form will be fine when not being coached by a footballing terrorist.

We saw him under a world class coach, he scored 21 goals.
We saw him under terrible coaches, he scored 6 or 7 goals.
Lets see what he does under Moyes.

But for now Beto is firmly in the driving seat and I hope he takes full advantage of Moyes ball.

He owes us nothing and we owe him nothing, so if we commit to 30m in wages, its a bargain in my eyes.

We paid 3m+ for somebody like Danjuma.

Im biased, I know, but hes worth every penny.

I would still rather he moved on, cos large portions of this fanbase just will never accept him.
