I thought he was the right man at the right time to make a return. Our likelihood of safety increased immediately.

I don't really have any great liking towards him though, nor dislike. Time does heal certain things but I simply regard him as the manager here. He has my support in that context. If he does well in the job it's to the benefit of the club.

I'm expecting him to stay for his current contact length only and that probably suits him too.

Dyche is the worst manager in our entire history and it's not even close.
I don't think that is true or fair.

Hw was the right manager for us in the right place at the right time.
He kept us in the Premiership with a very average squad and after having the turmoil of two points deductions.
The season before he kept us in the division when we were in free fall under FL.

Forget Dyche he was just a poor manager but the points you’ve listed are all valid ones and we’re all enough to not appoint him. The league is poor and any decent manager keeps us up imo. Right now my view is still that we don’t want Moyes past the end of this season. His football and his ceiling are limited, on what he can achieve. When push comes to shove he’s still too cautious and doesn’t trust young players. For now he’s doing a good job.
Not sure that Dyche was certain to keep us up.

So did Lampard.

Doesn't mean they aren't both horrific managers who got us in the mess in the first place by being plop.

Maybe, early days yet, but the difference between them and an average manager currently seems huge.
The difference between lampards early days and rafas last was huge, the difference between dyches early days and lampards last was huge.

Moyes is clearly a better manager and his track record compared to the last two shows that. That being said all 3 managers came about on the tail end of a failed attempt to fast track success, and among sanctions on vital income, psr complications and a complicated and messy protracted takeover. No chance they get the job in a stable environment, now at least we have a manager who understands building a base for success with new owners and a new stadium. It's all positive.

I agree with this, making games against the likes of Leicester into must wins, if you lose that and continue not scoring ahead of the tough run in April, suddenly you have to beat Ipswich and Southampton around trips to Chelsea and Newcastle, and there's no guarantees there under such pressure and when they could be in a position to catch up.

The problem with going on massive runs of not winning games is that you have to follow it up with a run of winning a few in a short period like the end of last season. My biggest worry with Dyche was, what if we just...didn't
