They are but they are also in the North stand behind the goal between the edge of the penalty area and the corner flag. Block 120. They should’ve put them in block 017 instead.

I read somewhere recently that the new park end was built on the basis we were gonna be a championship club by the time it was finished, but not sure if that's true. It was certainly a disastrous decision to build essentially a poxy league one stand when we had all that room to use.

But we've been making smalltime decisions since about 1970 if we're honest, the mid 80's success was achieved 'despite' the board.

It boiled down to money in the end with the park end. Put simply, we were skint (nothing new there). As a result the club went for the cheapest option, and used a grant to pay for it.

The season before the old stand was demolished there had been some drawings in the match programme showing a new double decker stand. So that was the original intention. Unfortunately they were scaled back to the mecanno shed we ended up with.
