Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Sporting CP forward Marcus Edwards is set to snub Everton in the winter transfer window, according to TBR Football. The news outlet reports [1 February] that the Toffees held talks about a potential deal for the 26-year-old but will fail in their pursuit with Edward’s likely to join Burnley.

Let's be honest TBR Football, he didn't snub Everton for Burrnley - nice WUM though.

He's been referred to as 'the footballers' footballer' not flashy, but does the work that makes everyone else grateful.
Who are The Barcodes getting in to replace him, you'd think they'd be tying him down to a long term deal for the next five years, with heart and soul for the club he supports.

It screams bang average, inconsistent.

I have never seen this lad play, but just asked a friend who supports Rennes and he said:

... He is exciting attacking left-back, known in France for his crossing, chance creation, and progressive play. He’s great going forward, but he needs to improve If his defensive game (although not bad at all) he has the potential to reach the top level. Also noted Truffert has represented France at all youth levels, including the Olympic teams and he earned his first senior cap for the France a while back but has struggled to get back in the senior set up.

Creative. No assists all season

That will do for me. Gives us the option of playing an attacking left back and having a good solid replacement if we need a more defensive first mindset in certain games

Whilst it’s good seeing another player join. We have one fit striker and 3 fit wide players. I hope some more attacking players will follow.

Don’t worry Moyes and Thelwell will be doing the rounds over the next 24 hours.
