New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Ah, so the circled bit here?

They could probably remove the panelling to help on those end few seats, couldn't they?

Doesn't seem like a fundamental or unsolvable issue... and to be honest, it's nice to be worried about a small handful of seats being potentially dodgy rather than half a stadium's worth like at present!

Yes mate that corner in particular was a point of interest.

I couldn't see that happening as the clean up operation usually starts quite quickly after the game.

@Yid4life are you allowed back to your seat after full time for a pint or 3?.

You can drink in the stadium for one hour post match. You are not supposed to drink at all in view of the pitch at all.

I did see a couple of people getting away with it yesterday though. Our 18 year old, minimum wage stewards don't really care and who can blame them?

The panelling is basically a table for the media personnel to put their laptops (or if old fashioned, A4 pad and pens) to report on the game.

In designed form the area stopped between steps:

They obviously needed more seats and it was just tacked to one side:

Me and @maccavennie take a dim view of such behaviour. :hayee:

Yeah, I realise what the panelling is.

Tempered glass would work just as well.

All fixable!

I’ve never really understood why you can’t drink a beer in your seat but you can sit and drink a boiling hot cup of coffee/tea, I know which I’d rather have spilt on me, the beer might smell bad but it won’t give you 3rd degree burns.
Because the laws are absolutely archaic and treat football fans like potential criminals. Its disgraceful. Its also ludicrous because anyone intent on causing problems at the match can easily get bevvied downstairs on the concourse all very legally before going upstairs to watch the football. Apparently the very sight of beer within sight of the pitch makes things worse!🙄

Would've made more sense to put those extra tables in the central section here 1 row below the current media pen

Couldn't be bothered bevvying while the match is on or for anyone else to be for that matter. Bog and bar every 2 minutes. I'd rather keep it to the concourse.

I rarely drink at all anymore mate. I don't enjoy it that much at this point in my life. Nevertheless the fact that we're all treated like potential menaces and criminals for something as trivial as having a drink in sight of the pitch is absolute nonsense. Booze should either be banned from stadiums in general or not at all. This idea that a drink by the pitch is some terrible line that can't he crossed is beyond nonsense imo.

Agreed if anyone desperately needs a drink that much perhaps stay in the pub. Can't be doing with all the late arrivers and early darters all in the name of a pint that's before the ones who need 3 trips to the toilet during the game.
