Transfer Rumour Evan Ferguson

Too much money and too many question marks concerning this player.
I would prefer we look elsewhere.
He exactly the type of player we need to sign. Proven quality. Massive potential. Young. Career gone off the rails slightly so obtainable. Moneyball. We could waste similar money on someone completely unproven in the Premier League. When Shearer signed for Blackburn he’d scored 20 goals in 120 games and his best return was 13 in a season. He went for British transfer record.

I think it would be a pretty big statement signing and about as exciting as we could hope for tbh. He is very much the ideal mold for a classic Everton forward.

So therefore, there is no chance of it happening.

As for people moaning about us potentially signing a massive prospect for £40m because of rumours of alleged issues, thats the only reason we are even in with a shout in the 1st place. And its still unlikely.

We'll probably just recall Maupay or buy Ellis Simms.

Someone else mentioned that Brighton let Gyokeres go but even better than that, we let Erling Haaland go.

Chelsea let Salah and De Bruyne go, Dortmund let Isak go, City let Cole Palmer go, it happens all the time.
We never let a long list of players go we should have.

Would not surprise me if Moyes brings someone like Danny Ings in on instalments market value 7m that is more realistic like it or not
West ham will part with him when they buy Ferguson

If his career doesn’t get back on the rails , which is often the case with young players who get a taste for the party life , it’s a massive waste of money.
The type of player I would prefer we signed is the one who is about to break through , not one who has broken through and (possibly) crashed.
That would require quality scouting.
We are a football club ( allegedly) not a rehabilitation centre.

Aye but they’re all different situations. Ferguson was hyped as the next big thing just a couple of years ago and now Brighton are happy to sell. I don’t think their fans are too arsed either. Something isn’t right and we shouldn’t be using this window as a gamble on this kind of player.
