Welcome back Wayne
I live in the East of Scotland and got an emergency message, so I'm heading to the pub hoping to get locked in.
I’m thinking of just moving in to pub, owners privilege…….

Who the hell came up with such a snappy name that just falls off the tongue for this storm. Can someone tell me how it’s pronounced……..
Correct! Welsh I think.Apparently it’s Ay Oh Wen…..
I hope it doesn't affect you AT .Correct! Welsh I think.
I’m stood now looking out my kitchen window and can see things flying through the air but it’s too dark to see what they are. The noise when it gusts to crescendo is like a train. I’m an early bird anyway but I’m out of bed because this has spooked me.
This is now the peak of it for me and I just wish it was light outside as the dark makes everything seem more frightening. It is absolutely howling down both chimneys like something out of a haunted house. Now on my 3rd cup of coffee and distracting myself with a Jocky Wilson documentaryI hope it doesn't affect you AT .
I think we are already beyond tipping point in terms of reversing the damage we have done. If this was a film with all these extreme weather incidents we would be shaking our heads at the actors not realising what was unfolding around them.Good morning all on this dark morn here . I hope all are well and stay safe out of the wind and that @jazzy 's arboretum misses the worst of the winds . We are lucky in that we don't have really bad winds -yet .It is above freezing again with no sight of freezing ,that is not normal for here .
I fall in a strange position over global warming ,I accept it is happening but it doesn't worry me because there has always been fluctuations in the global mean temperature so it is normal for the planet just not for us .Perhaps we are the next species to become extinct .
Have.a great day all and stay safe from the winds COYB
Oh my goodness. Take care xCorrect! Welsh I think.

Wow. That's gone quick.Sounds like some of you are having a rough time over there. Stay safe everybody. Looks like Cornwall has missed the worst of it for a change. Flying back to London on Monday then travelling home on Tuesday so hopefully It'll all be over by then.
I’m glad you have decided not to go, it’s not worth the risk. Stay safeThe speed that the wind is changing direction is scary. As the light comes up I can see debris everywhere. I hereby abandon my plan to drive to Dublin this morning, not worth the risk.
My very first Hospital job was as an assistant for 5 years in the Occupational Terrorists* Department before I trained as a Nurse.Morning all. I’m lying in bed listening to the wind, its forecast for us til early evening. At the moment it sounds strong but not massively so, and I’m hoping it doesn’t get worse. Stay safe those of you who are having it bad.
Today is the day that finally Mr P goes to see the orthopaedic surgeon about his knee. I hope they will do something for him mainly because it’s horrible seeing him in daily pain but also because we want to get back to going walking together. Although I know it’s nothing compared to what others are going through it makes me sad that we can’t get out and do what we used to really enjoy. We could have been seen earlier at a couple of other hospitals but he’s hung on for Wrightington as it’s onlDepartmenty about 2 miles from where we live and it’s an international centre of excellence for rheumatology and orthopaedics. My very first job as an Occupational therapist was there - I was lucky to get it and I learned so much. I have so much respect for them.
Have a great Friday everyone- I hope you are not impacted too much by the weather![]()
