Burnley didn't want to lose their 1st choice centre forward, and definitely not to a relegation rival. The only reason they did was because Newcastle coughed up the £30m release clause(which was put there because they thought nobody would pay that much), and didn't have any option but to sell. Good business by the Arabs, weakening Burnley, getting a target man, for peanuts to them.

Aside from PSG, there’s a huge amount of affordable talent in Ligue Un. I really like the two wonderkids at Monaco, but I suspect Habib Diarra will be one of our first signings. Star of the future.
It’s also one of Moyes’s specialist areas. I remember years ago when he bid unsuccessfully for Michael Essien when he was at Bastia and Petr Cech when he was at Rennes. Just imagine. We tried to crowbar Nyarko into the deal due to lack of money
