How many England games did Baines Lescott Jagielka and Stones play between them? He put an international back 4 together for about 20 mill combined.

Can you imagine how much a player of Arteta’s quality would go for now, or Pienaar’s, the return you’d get on a prime Coleman, how he brought through Hibbert Osman Rooney Rodwell Barkley into the first team.

Ashworth can write the contracts but leave the player selection to the bloke who knows how to do it.
