January is a awful time, to do business. Not only selling clubs, will only sell players who don't get games. They are often reluctant to sell due having cover.

I'd genuinely throw a 25m offer with generous addons at City for Mcatee, lots of the clubs interested are hamstrung financially from cashflow or PSR, if we have the room we appear to have then make the deal. City are on the verge of bringing in a 70m player who pushes him further away from minutes too.

Probably the only window of opportunity we'd have to get him - come the summer a lot more teams will have the finances to out muscle us.

It's a lot of money for a still relatively unproven player, but the risk is well worth it.

Whats the attraction with McAtee? Could well be amazing but im not sure he set the lights on fire for Sheff Utd ?
