2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

And when you consider we’ve had to deal with Benitez and Allardyce also that’s some achievement!

Anyway the skid mark has finally been toilet brushed off this club now. It took a lot of bleach and high pressure pissing but it’s finally gone.
I genuinely think it's unfair on Big Sam that he gets put in this group. And that's saying something because he was the one to open the floodgates to the deluge of kopites into the club.

The damage Sam done basically extends to signing Walcott who is almost the only right winger we've bought for about 20 years.

It's why Moyes, quite rightly, unprompted and across multiple interviews - talked Dyche achievements up. How Moyes also said it's not about managers at Everton over the years why they've struggled. And how, even after Villa, he said it's not about himself, it's about the players.

Ultimately, this team is relegation fodder.

Some managers will eek more out of it. Some less. You'll get new manager uplift, like so;

... but when the dust settles, this team is poor. It's not a blip, 4 years now of results show you it.

I don't think any manager coming in would get this team top 10 and if you're not top 10, a team in successive relegation scraps is always looking over their shoulder.

Don't think this squad is as bad a relegation fodder, should be above last 5 and in touch with Brentford or Palace.

It's all above surviving for now, then get clever additions and make a step forward like Fulham, Bmouth and Forest this season.

Not sure Fulham have taken a step forward. Yeah they were 13th last season, but they were 10th the season before which is where they are now. They are a bang average mid table club and will dot about between 7 - 14th every year.

Bournemouth have stepped up this year, as have Forest. But I expect them both to be back to mid table next season.

The 3 seasons before this one we've averaged 41 points.

This year we're tracking below that.

Even if 15th as you say, often the margins are so small there you're talking 1-3 results.

We are what we are and as you say, it's all about surviving until we can rebuild.

Those teams you refer to have spent big money too, certainly in comparison to us - it's often just assumed they made clever additions. If like Bournemouth you spend £250m net the last 3 years, then some are inevitably going to look clever.

Well, not with this POV, but got promoted 3 seasons ago. But they handled the loss of Palhinha and Mitrovic (season before) way better than expected. Same as Brentford.

Spending is a factor to consider surely, but also coaching,

It's hypothetical, I don' think Iraola or Nuno would have us in the spot of their teams, but surely a few points up the table.

Maybe.

Though Dyche earned same amount of points as Iraola last season, and more than Nuno. Both with better teams IMO, so who knows?

Sometimes managers just fit and have good spells.

Iraola is popular now, but I wouldn't want him.

Tosun in the same window. £50m we got zero back for.

Big Sam's idea of a Turkish signing was a large kebab and chips. He'd never heard of Tosun, who Moshiri took a shine to after watching him against monaco in the champions league that year. Hence Moshiris fab 4 comments etc. And Allardyce not really having a clue about him

Yeah, but it’s James Rodriguez who apparently caused all our financial problems (according to @MikeH72 ). You know the fantastic player we were lucky to get, and even made a small profit off over all.

Sad that have you simply make things up because you’ve ran out of arguments. Your previous account @Death was very similar, I thought you might have disguised yourself a bit better this time but alas, it would appear you’re not intellectually capable of such.
