We still did concede quite a few goals still , and they come in massive defeats.

At times we looked good defensive, but not all the time.
First 6 games of the season and Everton conceded 15 goals (13 goals conceded in 4 games) while O Brien sat on his backside watching Michael Keane, Ashley Young and Tarkowski perform absolutely abysmally. Good Job “Keano” had such a great Pre season. The manager did nothing but play his favourites

Played out of position and handled himself well.
Maybe Moyes is considering going to 3 at the back and bringing in wide players to suit.

You left Pickford out of those players who performed abysmally in those early games although he got his head together ( well nearly) after that !

I think the only thing we’re missing there is a lwb unless Harrison or McNeil went there.

I think it could work… can even play Myko at LCB if Real come in with an £80m bid for branners (never play Keane again btw).

The 4CBs are the strength in the squad. Given the weakness in the rest it makes sense to use them more to scrape through.
Myko in makes it like a flat back four. Ideally he would remain as a back up utility defender on the left IF we can get in a LWB. He gives Moyes option to moves things around/reset during a match.
Can't believe I'm saying but we could do worse than Keane as the fourth CB. Obviously he shouldn't be in consideration if the other 3 are fit. And there's no denying he adds something up top late on in certain games.
I'd think they'd be mad to sell JB. Should be one good player in at a time without sacrificing the good players we already got. We've got in Ndaiye and OBrien, more of the same. Patience required here. The worse thing they could do is pick up scraps on offer, fillers, long shots and unproven. We need to get in youths but not a priority, we need a critical mass of quality to build from first. JB, JOB and Ndaiye are a start. Steady as she goes from there. (and improve the youths set up)
I take one decent player this window than 3 fillers. A wing back, striker or winger/10 has to be the focus but if it was someone more central like McAtee that would do.
They've got to go for quality or nothing and stop the rot.
Long way of getting to - McNeil and Harrison would be way out of their depth, even with 3CBs. Only if needs must, which would mean being in serious trouble.
I cant see how Harrison get another game with McNeil back. He'll scupper the way Moyes is trying to play.
Imo 1 quality LWB in would make a significant difference to this squad, in terms of quality and dynamic of play and to play to the existing strengths of the squad.
Either that or a striker but doesn't look there's anyone available who isn't someone we should be avoiding.
Apologies in advance for rambling on
