Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

It's as good as the source material really. I'm guessing whatever site it ripped the info from didn't discern between returning players. Who knows. It wasn't meant to be analysed in depth was a quick dirty means of showing who we signed since 2017. Tough gig.
But It’s not. It’s as good as its algorithmic interpretation of all available source material.

The problem is that LLMs don’t know anything, so don’t know how to interpret what they’ve read elsewhere. That’s why AIs hallucinate. Facts literally don’t mean anything to them - and (getting too serious for a Sunday morning in the transfer thread now) we’re cooked as a species if we don’t respect that.

Well we lost £120m in the financial year 2020/21. We incurred points deductions for the financial period 2019-2022. James Rodriguez, whether people want to believe it or not, didn’t play for free and was the highest paid footballer at the club by some margin. We couldn’t afford him, it’s time to just accept it as adults now.

So that one wage has suddenly become the PSR issue? Gotcha

Well it didn’t help did it? We would’ve still lost money but the losses wouldn’t have been as astronomical and we might possibly been able to wriggle around it like Leicester have done.

We could never afford him. We were a loss making business already and we signed a player who we were paying in the region of £150-200k per week. It was stupid.

Sh*t in, sh*t out.

If you think cutting James Rodriguez from our history saves us from our points deductions then that’s fine. I don’t agree.

The floor was yours but you blew through your own stupidity.

Never post again.
Haha. Hear me out though. Our biggest threat is from set pieces right? We struggle to score any other way. Why not get a player that can get a decent ball in the box especially with McNeil's injury record. I don't think it's a bad shout short term.

Haha
What he brought in financially more than paid for himself.

If all signings were like him, we wouldn’t have had a problem.

We will destroy the planet before the droids stop us

But in topic I would like a player please

The floor is yours.
He’s already on loan and we don’t have any domestic loan slots. Talk me through it
Broja will almost certainly be sent back cancelling that loan to free one up. If we want pace, we've got to look on the continent i.e. Nuamah from Lyon etc

It was reported in the press that we wanted Engala but he wouldn’t come to us and preferred NF

Is that another one we couldnt do 'because of restraints' (we signed Beto & Chermiti instead).

Surely part of a DOF's job is to get these players over the line? Kev has hugely failed at that, and its not as if Forest wern't under the same cloud as us?

Odds for relegation summer 23/24

Luton 9/25
Sheff Utd 83/100
Bournemouth 47/25
Burnley 9/4
Forest 5/2
Fulham 3/1
Everton 7/2

I think he was a vanity signing that we couldn’t afford and our accounts show that we couldn’t afford him. I know that’s a deeply unpopular opinion because our fans are very sentimental towards him and all of Ancelotti’s signings, but it’s my opinion regardless. I think there’s enough data there to back me up.

I understand mate. So the source was Transfer Markt. Not one I know particularly but here ls the site.
https://www.transfermarkt.com/fc-everton/alletransfers/verein/29

But you're right as a race, we're doomed, we are anyway so we might aswell go out misinformed 😕
