You could be right there mate, assuming ofc Ornstein isn't chatting bubbles.

The potential thing could be what you say my take was someone whose not walking in as a starter straight off - kinda remember Moyes bedding in players from the championship in the past over a season or more
Yeah it's hard to know what the context of it was really, I can see that some people took the 'player for the here and now' to be someone only for the here and now, which wasn't really how I took it. I assumed he meant a player who they thought could make an instant impact and a player who would be brought in with a view to being developed over time, but it's subjective as to what you think he was getting at.

As an aside, I think there's sometimes a bit of a false memory with regard to Moyes buying people from the Championship. I've seen it mentioned quite a lot but I can only remember Lescott and Cahill which isn't really a lot over 11 years. Jagielka was technically signed from the Championship but he'd played most recently in the PL so I don't really think that counts, and Stones I suppose, although he never actually played under Moyes.

Cannon would be an upgrade on Chermiti, who is a bit crap and never fit anyway. I think a deal for Beto is lined up, so we will need to bring in another centre forward in addition to Cannon if Beto is sold.

Slightly different.
City were winning the league every year, so felt they didn’t need him.

I’ve just checked Leicesters position in the table… they could definitely do with good players.
Ok then if Branthwaite was PL ready why did we ship him off on loan when we were pants?

The point is, just because a club has made a decision does not make it the right one. Not to say Cannon is actually PL ready but Leicester getting rid of him doesn't really prove anything either way.

So Chermiti not going to make it here either?

I mean seriously, just how bad has the recruitment been at this club over the last 10 years?

Does this club ruin every young prospect it brings in? It’s not like they paid peanuts for Chermiti as well. Same goes for O’Brien.

If I was a young player I’d swerve this graveyard massively.

Chermiti's a difficult one to judge because it sounds like he's going to miss virtually the entire season with injury, which is obviously a pretty massive deal. A layoff like that could seriously affect what he's capable of in his entire career, and will almost certainly have a huge impact on what they expect from him in the short term - he was a work in progress as it was, losing 12 months of development isn't exactly ideal.
