He’s switched his old 4-4-1-1 to a 4-2-3-1 that transitions in to a 4-1-4-1 in attack

Also Moyes was never afraid to try people in new roles, we may see Harrison get a run in his position… off the left
I see Armstrong getting regular sub appearances at least

And i also see him using Jake O’Brien more, would not be surprised if he takes a closer look at our set up vs Peterborough…
Wonder has he ever gone with a formation with 3 cbs? Branthwaithe, Tarki and O'Brien would be nice to see

Frying pans and fire.
Nah. We joke about dyche being a dinosaur, but in reality he was the primordial goo around a hydrothermal vent.

Moyes is lightyears ahead of dyche, as is almost every other top flight manager. You may be disappointed with Moyes and not feel he's as progressive, expansive or exciting as what you wanted, but he's not a step backward from dyche.

Can’t wait for his first Sky interview, in the old office, in the beige cardigan, top secret coded whiteboard magnets in the background, then we can hear about how low the club is in the league, in confidence, in fitness, in belief yadda, yadda, yadda….
Lowering the bar sufficiently so his 12th place finish this season can be seen as a great achievement.

I bet he even says he’s had to change the menu in the canteen from vindaloo and pie and chips or whatever Dyche set out.
Already done mate ;)

I'll be supporting the objectives of the manager to win games. I wont support the character he is.

He's called me, you and everyone else who supports Everton a "disgrace".

If you wish to turn the other cheek, do so.
He was bang on. I don't want to turn the other cheek. I want to stand by his side in smiting the floppy Everton das who are poisoning this great club.

I’m pretty ambivalent about it,
But the bottom line he’s the best manager we’ve had apart from Ancelotti in 20 years,
We’ve been mismanaged for decades and although it’s a fresh start, if he keeps us up it will hopefully put us on a good footing for the future,
Ideally he’ll stabilise us over 2/3 years and move upstairs to board level.
We’ve had a kick in the sack at every available opportunity on and off the park,
So i’m hoping that we’ve finally bottomed out,
The season starts now for me, 5/6 wins please.
tbf, he's been the majority manager in the last 20 years.

But supporting Benitez who called Everton a “small club” was fine? You didn’t mind a bit of “cheek turning” there? 😂 I think it’s kind of a given that all fans support the “objective of the manager to win games “. There wouldn’t be much point in supporting a football club otherwise. However, the bottom feeder you’ve just had to put your Pom-Poms away for was found out to be a self serving quitter who bottled it at the first sign of any real scrutiny if we want to talk about character. I will concede this on Moyes, though, this isn’t for me on anything longer than an interim basis.

According to some bloke on twitter who allegedly met him in a bar drinking and then deleted his twitter so there’s no evidence.

You are also being very hypocritical considering you stated you support every manager. But now you won’t support him. Hell, you even supported Benitez.

Honestly Dave, you can do better.

Thats how a low block works you engage high and fall back into the low block.

You apply pressure but dont engage instead try to block off passing lanes and as you fall back you allow your team enough time to transition from the attacking shape into the defensive low block.

Ancelotti used to do it at real madrid. In attack it would be a 3412 with Marcelo pushing up and ronaldo moving into the strikers position but in defence it would 4411 low block. With ronaldo and marcelow falling back into the LW and LB position respectively.
I know how it works, and Moyes was very bad at it - gave all impetus to the opposition. Look how many late goals we conceded under him with shots from distance. Other low block sides never seemed to concede anywhere near as many shots from distance.

Seriously, watch our old games back, the amount of goals from distance we let in was crazy.
