I’m pretty ambivalent about it,
But the bottom line he’s the best manager we’ve had apart from Ancelotti in 20 years,
We’ve been mismanaged for decades and although it’s a fresh start, if he keeps us up it will hopefully put us on a good footing for the future,
Ideally he’ll stabilise us over 2/3 years and move upstairs to board level.
We’ve had a kick in the sack at every available opportunity on and off the park,
So i’m hoping that we’ve finally bottomed out,
The season starts now for me, 5/6 wins please.

Don't understand the knock on his time here. He's taking over in similar circumstances with regards to on field performances as his first stint. If he can replicate what he did previously then are we saying it's not deemed a success if he can take us from relegation candidates to a top half team in contention for Europe most seasons?

The feeling was it was getting a little stale under him and a new more attacking manager would push the team on. We got one good season out of Martinez and have been slowly declining ever since and still no silverware.

We all know the pros and cons of Moyes (even though I think some of the cons are blown way out of proportion). Bottom line Dyche told the owners he couldn't take the team further. Moyes has already shown he can at both us and West Ham. His deal is 2.5 years not 5 years.

Just updated the OED.

Same fans that said they’d “take 17th” at the start of the season are now crying because we’re not going to win a trophy. You couldn’t make it up honestly. It’s as if they’re still bitter about their manager being bulleted in merciless ruthless fashion for being a 28% win ratio bottom feeder.

I still think they’ve offered 2.5 years as a safety measure, and that they’ve got another long term target in mind. Too many rumours about there being a manager who is still employed we’re after. They’ll be some clause in the contract allowing a mutual agreement if it happens, just a feeling.

Also wouldn’t be surprised to see Moyes take a back room role at some point, if not with us then another club in the future.

I think its going to take 2 summer transfer windows before we are in a position to really propel ourselves forwards. If Moyes can keep us up this year and get us inside the top ten next year. He will deserve that extra year and by the end of that year we will be going into the 3rd summer window with a solid base for a new younger stylish manager to add the cherries that will take us into domestic dominance for the next decade
Top 10 next year would be a massive propel forward! We are basically relegation fodder at the moment and have been for a few seasons!

I remember it being initially reported that he had a 7 year contract at United but there was some sort of break clause meaning he only got paid off for less than two years?
