Interesting to see the difference in opinions here. You younger lot will have blue tinted glasses on for Moyes as he was your first manager. Us older lot who saw the the great 80's sides know better.

Clinging onto a past that is no longer relevant for where we are as a club. Just because you saw us lift trophies in the 80s doesn't mean we have any right to now.

People like you told us that Moyes wasn't good enough at the time yet since he's left every manager has done a worse job than him.

Loppy was an absolute dreadful appointment for West Ham which is why he’s already gone . Moyes won 3 games after Christmas last season and left behind the smallest and oldest squad in the premier league. This season has just been a continuation of the rot served up by Moyes last year.
Moyes seemed to get found out after a couple of excellent seasons, playing counter-attack. Ironically the cup win came when our form was spiralling down - nearly relegated that season.
His subs are bizarre, his low block doesn’t seem to work (74 goals conceded last season) and there is absolutely no plan B. All after spending nearly half a billion (west ham are prems 5th biggest net spend over last five years)
Honestly, watching low possession, low block football and still getting beat for so long is why West Ham fans like myself wanted him moved on, not because we weren’t grateful for the cup win or longed for some mythical, media-spouted ‘West Ham way’ .
I just don’t see much difference between him and dyche , in the same way I didn’t see much difference between loppy and Moyes .
Good luck though Moyes
Old squad? Had nothing to do with the owners or DOF just Moyes

50:50 but no doubt he held us back too. Question is are Evertonians desperate enough to forgive and forget
Not sure I agree he held us back, I think he took us as far as he could at that time with the constraints we had as a club, let’s be honest he’s not a title chasing manager. When we were in Europe and pushing for the champions league he should have been backed there and then, but the club just didn’t have the money. After that there was nowhere left to go.

I’m not going to claim to be excited by the appointment, but is he pragmatic choice for the here and now?? I think he is. Reality is replacing a manager mid season, and asking someone to come in and stake there reputation on a team that can’t score and is staring down a barrel is a tough ask and a short list of candidates.
