Yous are all kidding yourselves if yous think that yous are just going to put up with 10 th and 11th place next couple of season

Why? That is what has happened before. Anything above a relegation battle is deemed something to be content with over the years. It’s what played a part in the regression of the club .

Fans gaslighted so they don’t upset the apple cart and when some finally lost patience and spoke out the club panicked and accused them of criminal activity against the CEO.

Tony Bellew, knew Bill and many people at the club very well according to himself, yet knows nothing about what happened with that incident. I don’t believe that for a second.

Another poster mentioned earlier you had the likes of NUFC appoint Howe when they were in a similar position, Villa went for Emery, Palace went for Glasner. Going for Moyes just feels like a step back in time. Since he's left us he's had 2-3 good years at West Ham, whose fans couldn't wait to be shot of him. But yes the main aim is staying up and if he achieves that then fair enough.
The problem with that is they've been glad to get rid of him twice and both times they've fired his replacement in short order as they haven't done as well

Sure. He did/said some dumb things when he left for Utd. After that we've had effing FSW at the helm so I'd forgive Davey and give him a fair chance. He's proven since then he can still do a decent job.

More to the point, people are kidding themselves if they think these new owners will.

As much as I think this Moyes appointment is disastrous for quickly changing the culture of the club, I don't think he'll last too long under these people. They won't indulge too many runs of six games with a single win, three draws, and two defeats. Or slow starts to seasons - something Moyes was notorious for whilst here.

Remember, many of his seasons were spent soaring up the table early in the new year having holed genuine hopes of a top four finish under the bough in the first three months of the campaign. We often had top four points totals over the course of half a season - the seciond half - but left ourselves with far too much to do because of notoriously slow starts. That won't cut it anymore when the club is "stable" and ambitions rise above survival.

Well, a boy must cling to something in these dark "good times."

I see it as the complete opposite me mate , they’d seemed to be happy enough with dyche

Moyes might be the easy choice but there are other considerations here. 2 of them are ability to work with this squad as there is not a lot of money and secondly time. Moyes can come pretty quickly and no real settling in period. You go for someone like Fonseca he would take time to bed in and need a completely different set of players. to play his style. Also be far easier for this squad of players to adjust to Moyes.

Yep, that 2nd bit is another factor getting overlooked. Nobody likes the garbage we play, but as far as keeping us in this league this season and potentially getting us away from serious danger, I think he can play it more effectively than Dyche did, who had all but given up.

I think they had short-term incentive to be happy with him. If he kept us up, he would have bought them time to execute a football plan. But he didn't look like doing that - and they are clearly unprepared.

Moyes now has that role. They'll dump him as soon as they dumped Dyche if he doesn't look like keeping us up. Right now, I would say there isn't even a guarantee that Moyes gets to the end of this season. If it goes that badly wrong, he'll become their next Ivan Juric - sacked within three months.
