Of course I might be wrong but IMO of all the talked about and available candidates Moyes offers us the best chance of staying up this season.

Personally I'd prefer to start BMD with a fresh new manager but I agree that with a depleted squad and still tight finances we might need a slightly longer period to steady the ship before a new guy takes over.

The way he acted when he left wasn't great but we have to put that to one side and get on with it..
As @Saint Domingo said in an earlier post now is the time to heal.

It is imperative that if Moyes gets the gig that everyone gets behind him and the team. We have been fractious for too long and a disunited club / fan base is no good.

Let's bin the toxicity and turn Goodison into a bear pit again.

COYB.

Hopefully some clause in the summer regarding a break in contract, because if not that's absolutely mad handing him a two-year deal. He's had the club's pants down as he knows we're absolutely desperate and the owners seemimgly have no idea.

You’d think we’ve been racking up those wins away at the ‘big 6’ since he left the way people are talking.

‘Bottling’ cup semi finals isn’t really an issue for us right now either.
Records at the big 6 since he left:

United: 1-4-8
Chelsea: 0-4-8
Arsenal: 1*-2-10
Liverpool: 1*-2-10
City: 0-5-8
Spurs: 1*- 2- 9

* denotes the game was played behind closed doors.

So our 1 win true away win in the entire time he's been gone came against himself. God we've been spoilt.

He took Sunderland down in 2017 with

Pickford
Bryan Oviedo
Joleon Lescott
Jack Rodwell
Steven Pienaar
Darron Gibson
Victor Anichebe

Utterly irrelevant today but 5 of those were recruited that summer and 3 from Manchester United.

Hopefully if there are transfers this window he/the club cast their net a little bit wider than simply former players. who had largely been out out to pasture.
Gibson (hiccup) united.
Lescott (downed tools) city
Rodwell (to much to soon) city
Pienaar (spurs bench)

bit closer?

The more I think about Moyes coming back the more I think we should have just rolled the dice with Dyche until his contract was up. When are we going to escape this BS around this club

You would rather “roll the dice” with a man who’s been relegated twice and has a 28% Premier League win ratio than appoint someone with a track record of stabilising struggling football clubs? Weird but ok.

A teenage Jordan Pickford.
Was Oviedo ever any good?
A permacrocked Jack rodwell
A 40 year old Steven pienaar.
An alcoholic darron Gibson.
And 3 goal a season victor anichebe.

Clearly, he just needed to add some wins in there. Job done.
