Admittedly low competition, but he looked fine, definitely seems a suitable fill-in, and hopefully can get minutes if we are ever *gasp* winning comfortably, or move up the table.

To be fair, 'insanely average' would be a huge improvement for us. He did well this evening and Baines/Coleman did well too to substitute him when they did, he is still a boy playing a man's game.
By insanely average I am acknowledging how young he is and he shouldn't be setting the world alight. It's more of a question to if he is ready and I don't see that all with him but I don't mind seeing him getting a chance and if he can continue to have an impact like that he could win more looks and change my mind. It's up to him

Reminds me of Adam Wharton at Palace. Not just his play, but his calmness and almost emotionless demeanour. Ice man.

Him coming through also puts another nail in Doucoures’s contract renewal coffin.

We should be investing in players of a similar age so we have a 'wave' of young talent coming into the squad.

I keep repeating myself but the likes of Chris Rigg (Sunderland) and Tyler Dibling (Southampton) are around his age. Not necessarily them but if we could target these types and also see pathways for Braiden Graham, Roman Dixon and the likes then we could actually build something.

Maybe, just maybe this is harder than you think otherwise every club would do it.

We need a better blend of youth and experience. For me Jake o Brien should have had far more game time, it’s criminal to have a young prospect not been phased in. Roman Dixon should have been given more minutes. We have just brought in Armstrong who was the most composed player on the park last night. To be honest Patterson, Armstrong and O Brien were far better attacking, than Branthwaite, Mykolenko and Ndiaye on the opposite side but I think Myko was the weak link there. I would have like to have had a look at lindstrom playing there.
