Sacked on a match day. I'd call that a statement of intent from the new owners. If you're not performing you are gone, match day or not. Cold as ice, I rather like it
I worked for the American arm of a very large multinational for a couple of years and this is exactly how they operated. Can't say I enjoyed it much. I jumped ship as soon as I could. Not saying this is the wrong decision, quite to the contrary, but the timing of it and the way they've done it seems a little unnecessarily aggressive. Why not sack him on Tuesday before the press conference?

They told De Rossi he had to go 10 minutes before morning training. He packed his stuff and immediately left the training center. This is why people went mad. I agree this was extremely disrespectful.

They also denied Mourinho the chance to talk to the players for the last time. Mourinho threw away the Conference League winners ring and left it in the hallway. 😀

In any case, you can bet they're going to announce the replacement in 2 days.

I would quibble with this bit. By all accounts, the man told them to their faces that he couldn't do any better than this. Then he not only didn't have the integrity to resign after that admission - he had the gall to drag it on for days negotiating for a payout. This is a man who is already getting paid millions of pounds to fail at his job, remember. Sounds to me like they were gentler even than they could have been.

What he deserved was for the statement to have finished with "Don't let the door hit you on the way out." That they gave him the basic, only-the-facts, corporate-speak statement was the classy move in this case, if anything.

Yep. That's very similar to the experience I had. I worked for the Americans for just over two years and had 3 different bosses. Both times there was a change I just turned up in the morning and was introduced to the new boss. Nobody ever explained where the old boss was or even if they were fired. It's a grim way to live. Pay was good though.

Yes, David Moyes

If that's true. Someone's put that out there for a reason. I've got no love for Dyche, but he's an egomaniac, I find it hard to believe that he told them he wasn't up to the job.

I'm sure it wasn't that straightforward. Sure, I doubt he just walked in and right off the bat said, "Look, fellas, this is as well as I can do. Take it or leave it." I'm sure it was more back-and-forth about these are our capabilities in this transfer window, etc. etc. what can you do within those parameters. Whereupon he would have then said "I've taken it as far as I can, if this is what I have to work with." Or the like.

Maybe he's just burnt out with it and didn't feel like dealing with new owners who wouldn't just let him slide along no matter what?

They operate like mafia. 😀
