I mean that people complaining that the Potter "speculation" has undermined Dyche - or any rumoured TFG approach to Potter has undermined Dyche - are looking for a needless stick to beat them with when that stick was there on day one when they left him and Thelwell in limbo with only Dyche's own utterances of "support" for company.

He's always been a strong candidate for most top flight clubs though.
Relatively strong reputation. Out of work.

He will have spoken to most clubs via intermediaries or agents who have replaced their manager in the past six months or so. Last season too.
