It’s a good job there is absolutely no evidence that Sean can go on long winless streaks as a manager every season. Best to crow about how well he’s done so far with 3 wins already and 14 magnificent goals. The year that Burnley finished 7th he had a 10 game winless run… his best premier league season ever and he still had a run of 10 games without a win. Those sort of stats are behind him now as he’s adapted his tactics and in no way relies on luck, set pieces and a mom display from his goalkeeper

You can look at their transfer expenditures as well in the same period. Yes the manager is one part of the equation but it’s not the only one which is some people’s point on here.

Forest and Bournemouth didn’t magically progress in a vacuum. They spent 100s of millions net in the same period we’re bringing in money.
Yes they have had good new manager but it naive to recognise that villa and forest have been amongst the biggest spenders over a number of seasons.
I'm not naively saying it's all down to the manager and money doesn't play a part - of course it does. Yet, we spent favourably in the past, and it didn't work out well.

Should Bournemouth be 5th with their squad, or Forest fourth? I'd say most would say no; Brentford have consistently been on par or outperformed us.

There are other teams you could use as an example, too. My point, and the point of others, is that Dyche is not getting the most from parts available to him.

He continues to bemoan our lack of goals, whilst sticking to a system (showing no adaptability) that means it's incredibly difficult for us to score.

He continues to bemoan what came before him, rather than focusing on the fact he's been here for two calendar years and the football is regressing.

Fair play to him for ensuring our survival - credit where credit is due; nevertheless, it's now his time to start generating results rather than blaming everyone else.

You only need to listen to his press-conferences to know he's out of touch of reality, or simply trying to gaslight the fans.

How many of those clubs have been building an over budget stadium at the same time though?

The second time he took them down they were tight defensively and drew lots of games #stability

Don’t know what Sean’s done to upset everyone yesterday?

A lot of hangovers in play and he’s Getting it from all angles.

What the actual is this? We can’t argue that he has had no investment in the team because of this.

I have read this 5 times and still not sure it’s trying to say. He finished 7th but he didn’t win more of the games?? Have you slept since Christmas dinner?

To be fair… 100% agree with you. I have given myself to January… to win hearts and minds… then I’m going cold turkey…

Not even sure what I’m arguing for these days… he’s done the job

This is the thing really, it feels done.

If he was going he was going before now, bar an absolute collapse from here, the debate and thread seems pretty pointless.

Best of luck to the manager and players today.

Are you serious? Why on earth do you think there is going to be investment into the team on top of the stadium build, we were always going to have to grin and bare it for a couple of seasons sadly. It's not like we haven't spent anything at all is it, maybe they are not the ideal players that everyone would have liked but we have hardly just sold and bought nobody in. Tbh I'm more inclined to point the finger at Thelwell and the recruitment team as the little bit of money we have had I don't think has been spent well. Also like it or not (the dychettes generally don't) we are in 2024 now and convincing players to play in a dycheball type setup is not the easiest thing at times. Hopefully we see some sign of change in the summer.

Agreed with you and @twoblue. Regardless of the difference of opinion, it does feel like a completely circular argument at times with no quarter given.

With each game, his tenure is closer to completion and so each round of debate feels a little more academic than the last (I’ll still get drawn in though 😄)
