Apart from the games we’ve won, Dyche won’t win a single game playing like that

He’ll always play for a 0-0 (ignores the 4-0 home win literally the game before)

Take a day off. The bloke is going imminently, his job is done, legacy secured, we won’t need him going forward hopefully, yet some of you are shrieking in the wind because he got a point at Arsenal and imaging all the future games we won’t get points in even though the first prediction of no points at Arsenal was wrong straight off the bat.

We’ve won 3 games in 15 and ONE away game this calendar year    :hayee:

Getting snotted playing eye bleeding football but defending resolutely/using a bit of luck to gain an unexpected point isn’t the flex some think it is.

Very happy with the point, have no issue with the manager setting us up like that against a top side, it’s his decisions and performances against the weaker sides in the league that aren’t acceptable.

Take on board your point mate. Personally I don’t think we’re good enough.

I think there is a presumption of negative tactics, but I think the last few weeks have been illustrative that the team and results dictate the tactics.

Doucoure coming back into the team at 10, is a case in point. The manager listened to the fans and tried to change it p,ayung with a more expansive, McNeill at 10, Illy and at times Linstrom. It hasn’t worked, we haven’t crested or scored enough and results went south.

We’ve looked far more balanced and results have picked up, by going back to Doucoure and midfield three. Now is that that negative tactics or the more expansive ones and our best creative players failing - regardless we are at 5e point we need results.

For me as above, the alternative expansive tactic has failed and we’re hitting mission critical point of needing results and points.

Footballl is a game of balance, every year the team who,has the best balance between defense and attack wins.

If you have a bad defence you better have a good attack and excentuate it, if you have a bad attack k you better have a good defence and excentuare it - that’s where wee are.

I honesty do t want us playing it through the lines fir DCL to butcher.

It doesn’t work.
Again I agree we aren’t good enough , the squad are poor but also the majority have no heart for the fight as the capitulation against united was the latest example of .

That said I think he’s incredibly negative , I get he’s risk adverse and to an extent I understand it . I didn’t want him but I’ll repeat I think , up until this year I think he’s done pretty well in extremely trying circumstances. This season is a slog and I want more , again I get it’s about opinions and I have no issue with a performance like that against arsenal . I’d just like to see more desire to win more winnable games .

Fair points mate! ;)

This ☝️ 100%

I don’t think we set up the same way against Fulham at all to be honest. We were awful against Fulham but it wasn’t a case of sitting back like we did yesterday, we were trying to attack but were completely horrible at it. There seems to be a bit of a trend of just dismissing games that we don’t play well in as us not even trying to win, which seems a bit reductive to me.

That’s the manager’s fault.

Wasn’t that long ago Everton went 12 months without an away win under a much better manager with a much better team.

Last season we had more away wins than many previous seasons.

But yeah it’s all Dyche’s fault.

the same people bleating on in the first 4 games about how Dyche always plays the same way, are still bleating on now with the same complaint. Anyone with a brain can see we’re playing differently than we did in the first 4 games and differently than we did last season (which also saw different variations across the 38 games).

Dyche plays defensive football, it’s often boring, it’s low scoring, but also low conceding most of the time. These are all valid points but honestly people crying that all he’ll ever get is a 0-0 the week after a 4-0 win just look ridiculous.

He was the right manager for the team we have been over the last few seasons.

This time though, think we all expected the side to kick on, but for whatever reason this hasn't happened and he doesn't seem to be the guy to change things

I think we part ways, saying thank you for what you've done

To be fair I have noticed in your posts you talk about last season a lot. He did relatively well in his first 1.5 seasons, given the challenges. This season I was hoping for slight progression, be it style or dare I say, points. This, to date simply hasn’t materialised.

I appreciate that progression is never linear and that points earned can be clustered, so it remains to be seen whether we go in similar runs to last year. He’s shown what he is certainly over this season to date, incapable of moving beyond this area of the league generally (I know he achieved 7th once).

Nothing would have pleased me more than for him to have shown that progression so we could have even discussed an extension if needed, but he has fluffed his lines. He’ll be gone soon enough as you say but I see why people are frustrated. At some point however slowly we need to start looking upwards and forwards.

There was a glow in his cheeks after the game that hasnt been there for a while. He was 100% cracking one off last night getting a 0-0 lol.He is what he is. Even the commentator stated it when the camera went on him "dyche will be loving this"
But its not a masterclass. Its get everyone behind the ball. Sacrifice any attempt at attacking and hope your keeper has a good day.
I'll grab the point every day of the week because we've failed in games this season where the onus on attacking has exposed the bigger issue and we're desperate for every single point because of that.
Not gona lie i was a tad embarrassed seeing a few players celebrating at the end yest. I dont want to normalise that. We play in the same league as them. Not just turned up like some minnow in a cup tie and grabbed a replay.
Yesterday isnt the issue with dyche and it doesnt need explaining what is.
I'm never going to crow about going to a club in the same league and not having a single shot on target as anything to celebrate. Will gladly take the point jump on the bus and keep quiet.
