There’s a balance issue in midfield that we’re struggling with
Any 3 of Gueye Garner Doucoure Onana worked to an extent because there was enough pace in at least two of the 3 to cover Gueye in any combination.
With Garner and Iroegbunam injured we’re now effectively choosing three of Gueye Mangala McNeil Doucoure in midfield. Any combination leaves two slow players and we almost certainly can’t put McNeil and Mangala together or we get walked through.
It’s just as crucial as the attacking wide positions for me as a place we need to strengthen.
I thought the ref tonight was doing his best to avoid controversy, everything that could be blown for was, no matter which way it went.

He works hard and seems to have a good attitude, and right now that’s what we need seeing as we’re trying to stave off relegation

Really like the lad. Good attitude and brings a little bit of composure. I've seen glimpses of a decent passing range too.
He's okay, nothing amazing, certainly wouldn't be signing him perm on that option.

I love Gana, he’s been some servant, i’d give him another year as a rotation/back up.
But for me, the future is bright with Mangala & Garner, I think both can do it going both ways, I think there’s defensive steel but also goals in that midfield, played in the right system.
30m is a lot if thats the buy fee for Mangala, let’s see how he gets on, you can tell he’s a quality operator though, seems to read the game well.
For me, he’s been our best midfielder this season. He should always start ahead of Doucoure..
