He has made no attempt to engage with fans from day one, its poor tbh. He had a chance to make something of himself here, he won't get it again imo and he hasn't taken it for me. However I do see your point but it helps if the manager is actually doing a good job.

I think hes told the truth if im honest - that we have been f'd and i prefer that to be honest - even if i don't want to hear it.

People felt Lampard got the club, was likeable and had a connection - i just felt he was media savy and to be honest stage managed the fan base.

Like i say i dont think its important.

There is one mission, the best outcome for the club, i dont need to like everyone who can contribute to it.

And he's late, consistently, for the press.

Who gives a crap?

I'd only be concerned if that was a reflection of his attitude towards being the head coach. As far as I'm aware, he holds himself to the same standards he holds the players to when it comes to work ethic, attendance and punctuality on the training ground and in prep for matches.

You know who was never late for pressers? Koeman. Probably because he ended training early so he could have a wank in the bogs and a brew beforehand. :hayee:

And was still a better Everton manager than Dyche :D

Well no not really, but if said manager is not winning football matches,
What he’s basically being paid to do. Then you have a problem

100% ultimately this is a results business and will be judged accordingly.

I agree with @Simon Buttle Dyche has had a huge chance and thus far failed the audition in my opinion, in terms of a future here.

There is a real spectrum at the moment, you could say we won 2 in11 equally you Equally you can say we were beaten once in 6 - I've heard both in the media this week.

Ye, had he made a better start than this there would've been talks about a future contract.

Although everytime I've thought he can't come back from the brink so far, he has. We generally tend to pull out a result when we really need one.

I think we will grow into the season, my suspicion is our fitness plan is to peak later.

The real block to target is the fixtures in late Dec to March - we really need to well in this period - it was very undermining last year.

At this rate we'll need Champions League form to get us out of the relegation battle during that period. Doesn't seem very likely given the worsening results and general performances.

We need one today mate.

I think there's things he could have done to play to the masses, so to speak, that would have eased the pressure on him. Like picking Michael Keane to start the season for instance. That got peoples backs up right away, and he must have known that, he's not blind, deaf or stupid. But you know what, I don't mind that, it's the life of a manager. They have to have the courage of their convictions, because they will be judged on results regardless. So here we are, and he will be judged on results. Over to you Sean...

That's the thing mate, i didn't agree with it, but i understood it.

Ive taken teams before. For one reason or another your best player could be out. The lad who comes in does well. That lad may be popular with the group, has worked hard for the chance and overall you have to man manage the squad, keep it competitive and make all 20-30 lads feel if they perform and contribute well they will have the chance, it keeps the overall squad competitive. If not it can undermine the whole squad.

I understood it, even if Branthwaite is clearly far more talented.
