2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

I wouldn't really focus on stats in that context because most of his games wide have come when playing at a higher level (which in itself may not be entirely coincidental). He also clearly can play effectively from the left, so again I don't really see the fact he didn't do it much in the past as an issue at all.

I would like to see him given a go centrally because I think it's worth us trying to shake things up a bit, and I think Dyche's answer in the press conference was unnecessarily combative, I just think it's worth acknowledging that he isn't necessarily an out and out number 10 who we've inexplicably moved elsewhere that's all.
So what you are saying is we should throw out his entire history as a player before the last 13 games? That's a pretty bold take on evaluating players. Senegal's going to be livid to find out they've been playing him out of position.

What can we then use to understand a players best position, before the DOF decides to sign them?

Eh? That’s not what I said at all.

The bigger problem isn't Dyche's combative answer, it's his seeming categorisation of the lad's career to date as non-evidentiary, which is either ignorant or dismissive or maybe both and we should expect better for £5mil per year

What do we think about Thomas Frank as a Manager? Do we consider him a clever operator?

No. McKenna is the one.

Some may call him...

Kieran 'The Magician' McKenna

Looks like a fella who drives around in a convertible Audi and bothers lady joggers.

I'd have gone with a classic (very old) convertable beetle.

On special occasions a 5 year old yellow one.

Silva’s issue as I recall it was less Iwobi’s position and more having Gylfi Sigurdsson (am I allowed to type his name here again?) on the pitch. I wanted Iwobi at 10 at that point more for the knock on of it meaning Sigurdsson wouldn’t be.

Yeah later on Carlo, and then Lampard and Dyche, decided he was a right sided player which he never ever was. I feel it’s fairly similar to McNeil now in that he when you play a largely one footed player on the side where their strong foot is only able to play around the outside that player can be easily snuffed out of the game. Iwobi needed to be elsewhere, as shown by his fairly decent Fulham form playing elsewhere, the same as McNeil always has needed to as shown by his decent form currently.

He's played Left, centre, right and right back for Fulham this season.

Silva's issue was Gana out and Delph/Gbamin in and injured

Would we say Thomas Frank has an astute footballing mind guys?

McKenna.

We've appointed worse, that's for sure. He's probably done a better job at Brentford than Dyche did at Burnley if I'm being honest.
Not going to disagree with that but the background team at Brentford, the owners, the scouting have been highly regarded for years. Money balling both in Scandinavia ownership models before proving it again with Brentford

McKenna needs to show he can actually keep Ipswich up first Zat (he won't over the course of the season imo) I reckon we will have someone by then.
