Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Did you watch the first series of Wolf Hall - I was looking forward to watching this tonight but realised it’s series 2. I just wondered if I ought to watch the first series before this one x
Yes I did. You should watch series one as it’s the first part of the Thomas Cromwell story, his rise and Wolsey’s fall, Anne Boleyn (one for Cal, @Barnfred 55) and also because it’s brilliant. Have I sold it to you?😂

Morning everyone,

Bloody hell that was dull and boring yesterday. When will we see some light at the end of the Everton tunnel?

Anyway it's a lazy Sunday today with Mrs J getting ready to jet off with sister to celebrate her ( sister's) birthday.

3 night break in Portugal, alright for some whilst I have to look after granny and all the animals.

There was a school reunion last night and obviously I didn't make the 600 mile round trip to go but looking at the photos posted it's just as well that they all had name tags because genuinely there wasn't one that I recognised.

Where have all those years gone?

Have a lovely day everyone.
I didn’t go to my own one either. It was about a year or so ago. I felt that anyone I stayed in contact with were my friends and as for the others, I really didn’t care what they went on to do.

You can’t like everyone I suppose 😀

I enjoyed last night’s episode and explained some wee bits about Wolsey and the Howard’s etc to Mrs bl who hadn’t seen the first series. I think you could enjoy Series 2 without seeing Series 1 but it’s worth watching Series 1. The books are good too but a bit weighty and take some time to read .

Thank you. As it gets winter it’s good to have some series to watch so I think we will watch series 1 first, and save series 2. Plus I find that particular time in history and up until mid 1600s quite fascinating so I’m sure I’ll enjoy them.

We binged on the first 4 episodes of the Jackal.

Good job no more are on until she gets back.

I've had to promise not to watch the new series of Shetland whilst she's away.

So, with no football it's the music and sci fi movies that she hates!

Starting off with Camel - Snow Goose live played very , very loud.

And yes the pups are 2 rooms away before you get concerned Val 😂

Cal loved the TV series but didn't like the book. She was a fully signed up member of the Phillipa Gregory fan club and I think she thought Hilary Mantel was trying ti muscle in. And once you got on her badside...... 😀

Shetland episode 1 didn’t disappoint

Morning everyone,

Been a very early start today after Mrs J got a 5am. taxi to the airport.

Today will be a busy one with mums shopping, gym, feeding all thee animals and cooking for mum to squeeze in.

Hopefully time for some vinyl played extra loud in Mrs Js absence!

Have a lovely day everyone.
Oooh what sci-fi movies are you planning?

Hi folks. I hope all is well. I'm going to have a look at some of the series recommended by you. I need something to watch - the only thing I'm invested in at the moment is Bake Off!
Had the most frustrating day at work. I worked really hard (honest) and have nothing to show for it. This was entirely due to one of the documents I opened having over 3400 pages! I am still reading it. It is a transcript of 36000 messages sent between two people. Not what you need on a Monday 🤣.
Apart from that no news - it's gone very cold tonight. Winter is coming.

Morning all, hope you had a great day yesterday. Well my eldest went off to London before flying out to Saudi and even with good intentions and a beautiful sunny day I didn’t manage to get any time for the nail clear up. My wife kept me busy all day looking after her but she’s asleep now. Hopefully I’ll get a few hours sleep before we do the whole thing again later and maybe an hour to get down to the field. Goodnight all…have a great day…..
