Found these images on ebay in a batch someone is selling. I can't remember when I started getting Charles Buchan's Football Monthly but these editions were the season before, and the season of the 1962/63 First Division Championship - about 12-18 months before I became an Evertonian. The Alex Young issue would have been a month before my 10th birthday.
I can still smell mum's lipstick from when she wiped my grubby little face before she took us kids anywhere. There were seven of us eventually, all in a space of twelve years. Mum's 96 and we're now 73-61

Probably due to the fact that we were far more active and sweated, rather that sat in front of a TV or phone screen and vegetated.ā¦.we always seemed to have ātidemarksā on our necks, think that stopped with my generation.
