That's what has done my head in the most. Kept us up last season (thanks for that), then had a full summer window and brought in his own type of players and before the season even started he had a goal of avoiding relegation. It was the end of him for me. No ambition whatsoever, basically turned Everton into his own capabilities and manipulated a lot of people into believing we couldn't survive without him. This team are not great but a decent and ambitious manager would have them nowhere near the relegation zone.

It will catch up with him soon anyway because there is no universe where Friedkin would have someone like him in charge of their club.

He’s getting potted within a matter of weeks as soon as the takeover is approved, I just hope it’s done sooner rather than later. It’ll be like Bruce at Newcastle after their takeover, just a matter of waiting.

I’m not in the slightest bit concerned about relegation this season because the new manager will come in and haul us out of whatever mess Dyche leaves us in.

Yep we will be fine because he wont be in charge. I am confident about that. I think they have already identified and spoke to the person they want in charge tbh and its probably not the names doing the rounds on social media. These guys are pros and wouldn't leak private info like that.

No personally I don’t think we’re a top 10 team, but we’re certainly not a bottom 5 one either. Which is basically where the manager has talked us into being.

So if we’re not top ten and we’re not bottom 5 in terms of quality that puts us 11th - 15th which is the range I’ve been saying for weeks now.

We’ll probably end up somewhere in there but this will be treated as a massive shock and underperformance. It’s just where this squad is though. It would be expecting Dyche to significantly outperform his peers who have better squads to finish ahead of some of those top teams with top ten quality. If he’s the clown people say he is then this isn’t going to happen so why do people have it as an expectation?

For me 13th is par, if we finish higher it’s an overachievement (relative to how much higher) if we finish lower it’s an underachievement (relative to how much lower) l. With the caveat of course that if the spine of the squad is unavailable through injury for long term then it changes the quality rating of what is par.

Exactly this.

It should of been......'decent job in finishing with enough points for 12th place, now lets look to move on at finishing there without the points deductions'

Instead its just been crying about his situation or scenario when the team and the clubs situation have actually both improved.

I think that's were he has lost a lot of goodwill from people, unprepared to look a little further ahead, or at least portray that.

1 point off 10th and top half. But no, that shouldn’t be the target. Let’s just hope we stay up 🙄

20th-17th haven't won a single a single game yet this season.
Ourselves & Leicester only have 1 win each (against bottom 4 opposition)
Bournemouth & Brentford aren't any big licks (Bournemouth only have more wins because of that mental comeback against us.

13th should be minimum

I think we have the 13th best squad in the league. Obviously by saying that wouldn’t be shocked if we were 12th or 14th.

If you genuinely think our squad is higher quality than that then fair enough I just don’t see it. I could see an argument for 12th behind the top ten I listed and Fulham but then I look at Palace and see Guehi, Munoz Chalobah Wharton, Eze Franca Nketiah and think they’ve got more strength in depth in positions and more overall quality than we do.

Threw away 6 points against Bournemouth and Villa.

All the players fault that though….

Jep, away against Villa is one thing, but Bournemouth is just something really terrible.

Players failed on the pitch and the coaching stuff to come to the right conclusions off the pitch.

I calculated 9 points tbf.

Wins: Bmouth, Palace

Draws, Leicester, Newcastle, Brighton

Losses: Villa, Spurs

I think it's a pretty realistic expectation.

You think we should be drawing against the mighty Brighton mate?

I expected a win at Leicester, they are trash.

Jep, they are actually. I'd be fine with a draw when we win the home games against the equal teams on paper (Bmouth, Palace).

But would have needed that in retrospective to compensate the Bmouth loss, these are points that could be missing at the end of the season and before a season Bmouth and Palace are clubs that fight for the 15-11 spots with us.
