MINI DERBY AT GOODISON

I was shocked when I saw my first reserve game at how slow and lazy it was. Thought it'd be to at least friendly level but it was terrible. You seem to get the odd player trying to prove they deserve a place in the first team but most look like they can't be arsed and it's a chore.

I think it was because of it was oversaturated with senior players who wouldn't put a shift in and thus it lacked the spark kids actually trying would've infected through the ranks.

I wouldn't mind seeing Junior against Spuds with Fellaini. Good tackle, great vision, pass and technique.

So would I, it's whether Moyes thinks he could handle a Premier league game yet( probably not). Maybe Rodwell will be ready to play now with 90 minutes under his belt.

we looked poor, too many senior players who needed minutes but arent really that fussed on ressies football, that Junior looks a player though,Barkley was way off his England form.

cant believe some of the people saying mcfadden looked good, i thought he was awful he was so slow on the ball and took too long to make any decisions. the whole team was pretty bad to be honest. 2 plus points for me ossie looks fairly sharp and junior looks like he could be one hell of a find was the best player on the pitch when he came on

Rodwell didn’t do much, the game passed him by and he didn’t get involved enough when we had the ball. Still looks like he’s working his way in and will need a few games to get into the swing of things. Osman looked alot closer, he really relishes and understands that role in behind the striker now, and some of his touches and passes are a joy to watch. We need to get him involved in the first team because he undoubtably improves us if used correctly.

Barkley had a quiet first half but I thought he was impressive when he moved into Osman’s position when he went off. His style is Zidane esque, stopping on the ball, facing opposition players up and just wriggling past them with relative ease. He plays at a completely different speed when he has the ball. Defensive game definitely needs alot of work and he can be a little sloppy certain situations but he’s such a natural footballer, everything he does is positive and forward thinking.

Junior also impressed me, low centre of gravity, looked fairly quick and showed some excellent close control in tight spaces. Used the ball intelligently and put himself about a bit aswell. We still need that link between defence and attack for me, the Arteta replacement, and he showed some good qualities in the time he was on the pitch.

The only thing I’d say is the styles of the teams mirrored our first teams with Liverpool looking to play out from the back and us going for the more direct approach and trying to pick up the pieces in the final third. I haven’t seen enough of the reserves to comment but I’d like to see us having more of a philosophy of how we want to play. Who knows? Maybe that’s how the coaches want us to play.

THIS IS THE FINAL STRAW FOR ME

MOYES OUT,LES PARRY IN

this forum is so multiple personality disorder it's just unreal.

Just back. McFadden was awful - did bugger all squared for 80 minutes, Coleman off the pace. Mucha very good, Osman looked ready to return after putting in a decent hour's work. Junior looked pretty useful when he came on. Full back Browning stuck to his task well against Sterling (who was very good) for them.

Main conclusions:

1. Anichebe was hopeless up front. Much better when shifted to the right.
2. Coleman was useless in midfield. Much better when shifted to right back.
