Anyone else annoyed by the use of high-volume music-noise in nearly all public spaces now?

Cafe's, restaurants, bars, clothing stores, and even banks.

Not discreet 'background' music, but some high-volume screeching cacophony.

Hard to find a place now where you can read, talk, or just relax in relative silence. ( aside from Goodison on occasion)

Absolutely this. I hate noise, and noise is music I don't like.

Even music I like is noise if I'm in the wrong mood for it. Music should fit your mood.

Also - background music is noise. Either everyone shut up and listen to it, giving the artist proper respect, or turn it off!

I have very good hearing so it saturates with background noise meaning I can't make out what people are saying. It's downright antisocial and I swerve pubs and cafes that have background music these days.

Not enough places have background music and it makes for a depressing experience imo.

This is why I stay at home as much as possible. My dog never plays loud music and he loves me regardless of what I do.

I have fewer and fewer reasons to leave the house these days.
