Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Hello all. Son had his appointment this morning. Mostly running him through what the process will be as they are now removing his lymph nodes. It will be a 4 hour op and 3 days in hospital. He has to have another MRI scan on his foot so the surgeon can see exactly where to dig out. That should be next week. After that the op should be in next two- three weeks. Surgeon appeared to be confident that once op is done that will be the end of it but obviously won't know until post op scan. I feel more reassured that there now seems to be a plan and also, according to son, that the surgeon did not seem very concerned about it spreading further in the interim. As long as all the timescales are adhered to and there are no delays I'm alright with that. Thanks for all your kind thoughts x

He is in great hands Anj. That’s the first big hurdle over today and the way forward is clearer.

Nothing will stop you all being concerned but from here it appears the man who knows is quietly confident so go with that ,all my best to your son .

So pleased by the news Anje. These surgeons can work wonders. Fingers remain firmly crossed.

It’s great that you have been reassured by the appointment. I hope all goes smoothly for your son 💙

Morning everyone, just catching up on the last couple of days. Hope all are fully recovered from the aches and pains and agree totally that some level of activity is best. It’s sad that as we get older we don’t seem to see things improve but I can remember my parents saying the same thing about Wigan and I couldn’t understand it as a child because I didn’t know any different. At least we’re not affected by tourism in Wigan 😂.
Off to London and Tunbridge Wells this weekend to catch up with two sets of friends who we have been friends with for over 20 years and I’m really looking forward to seeing them. We met both sets of friends in Zante and have been on many holidays and visits together since. Going for a mooch round Greenwich tomorrow and it’s going to be 20 degrees 🌞. My northern skin won’t cope so I’ve had to pop factor 30 in my bag. Happy days.
Have a great weekend everyone with no Everton to spoil it 💙

Good morning all on this clear day here in Finland ,I hope all are well after a lovely slumber .I am a bit frustrated as the snow has once again melted and I want to make a veg plot but this elbow is under martial law ( the wife ) so I am not even allowed to pick my nose with that hand !
have a great day all COYB
Here is to hoping for some positive results over the next two days ,after hearing there won't be any more deductions this season it might give the lads a psychological boost COYMB

Just out of interest and reading about differences in health services I saw a report this week that said that each GP in England is now responsible for 158 more patients than they were 5 years ago. I’m no population expert but that seems a lot. Also I guess that they won’t all be ill/old or in some type of need. I just found it interesting

Thank you, and yes it did make me smile. Call me bitter but I hope his last season has a very uneventful end, and all of those Sky montages that I guess they have been producing since the announcement will not be aired 😂

According to their website our GP medical centre has 30,000 registered patients with 20 doctors and 10 nurses. A far cry from when my Nan and Grandad first registered there in 1920 and there was a single GP.
