Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

You sound like a man with an itinerary 😀
It won't work though AT because I've bloody researched my Liverpool landmarks and Gwladys will be getting them whether she likes it or not!

Shifted my Apprentice tour of Liverpool to Saturday am now. Which is better in one way because this way I can ensure that she gets to Goodison.

Safe journey over mate. BMD is looking fine

Tomorrow morning is very blustery by all accounts so that should save you some precious walking time via natural propulsion 😀

I suppose that it depends on the manufacturer. With Lexus the battery has a lifetime guarantee......provided that the car is serviced by them in accordance with the cars service intervals.

I was / am seriously considering an electric car to replace Mrs Js BMW estate .

We are fortunate in that we have a big driveway for home charging but as you rightly say Pete the range is putting me off . The initial acquisition cost is very high ( but then running costs are lower ) but as someone who forgets to change his phone overnight I'd be petrified of the car having no battery charge when I want to use it and / or running out of charge on the road.

That said it is the future I suppose so I will have to get used to it / embrace it sooner rather than later.

Our other car is a self charging hybrid and that suits me fine.

T , this is something that I wasn't aware of , thanks. I need to do more research.
Not many are Jazz that's why they get away with it.

Morning all. Shopping day, I am as excited as a kid at christmas lol I didn't get any last month and the month has dragged. I did however get my freezer defrosted and I pretty much had exactly the right amount of food left in it so I didn't need to waste much. I managed to get everything left into the ice box in the fridge while it defrosted. bonus.

I had therapy yesterday and it's the first time she seen me actually in a good mood, I don't have many of those days. I mentioned I had been listening to a lot more trance and EDM music and that it was giving me an itch to start DJing again. So she said I should go for it because it has been a long time since I had those feelings about doing anything.

I have looked at software called DJ Studio and you get a 14 day free trial. I will need to do more research first as i don't want to waste the free trial and I don't want it to be one of those "good idea at the time" scenarios.

Enjoy the day everyone. get for the weekend

Great news. Well done T.

Is it lack of charging points around the country or why are sales of EV’s going down?
I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but as others have pointed out the biggest barriers are the up front costs, depreciation and charging issues.

I have a few friends who have them through their jobs, and the consensus is they'd not have one if it wasn't for work, it would not have been their first choice.

In terms of charging, they say the fast chargers at petrol stations and whatnot are great for quick charging, however in terms of cost it's similar or more than fuel.

If you're charging at home, it's important to get the best tariff, which normally means charging between certain hours, or again the cost isn't spectacular.

One friend lives in a terrace street in Allerton, so charging outside their home is a no-no - what if someone trips over the cable? So his is all public charging.

There's charging ports in street lights around South Liverpool, which is a decent price, but that means leaving your car away from your home for hours at night.

If his company didn't pick up the bill for charging his electric van, he'd be out of pocket.

Very true . But for my circular route the wind will be with and against us at points. I just hope they cling onto their phones whilst taking photos of the 3 Graces and Fab 4 !
If you are up as far as Hope Street I bet it will be very windy up around the cathedrals. I wonder if it’s possible to see Bramley Moore from up there?

Well done T!

Great choice of track as well, I love them. I am for Enniskillen next week as it happens (Neil Hannon’s home town).

Sounds like unless you have the space, and income, for an effective charging point at your home then a switch to an EV may just have to wait.

Stupid as this will sound, I never equated the saving in petrol costs with the increased cost of electricity usage. The penny has now well and truly dropped.
