Today was the whole season in one game.

We lack any semblance of ability, confidence or composure when trying to convert chances. Our main striker has been profligate for 20 games...that’s over half a season. Despite what people say we do create chances. Converting them is the issue.

The whole team, but the midfield especially simply cannot keep possession for more than three passes. The amount of times we give the ball away under no pressure at all is criminal.

Substitutions and in-game management are abysmal.

Teams know we have limited creativity and lack real pace. Consequently, they sit back and put the onus on us to dictate the game, and we simply cannot do it. Instead we either give up possession with a wayward pass or as a result of the high number of massive punts up field we throw into every game. We play much more effectively against teams who come and take the game to us.

An aside - we have two season tickets and have had them in the same seats for over 20 years. There’s another seat that isn’t a season ticket dividing them. Every week whoever is sat there happily moves up a seat no issue. But not today. Oh no. ThIs absolute plum steadfastly refused to move as he’d “been waiting for this seat for years”. He just needed to move one seat to the left. Was a right ‘kin oddball...straight out of The League of Gentlemen. If it was you well done on being a grade ‘A’ tosspot.
Very good sum up. Yesterday's game was pretty much a copy of the games against Wolves or Fulham earlier this season. Should end up with 5-9 points in these 3 games, but actually got 0 and beaten by a team that were ice cold in front of the goal.

Some is on the team set up. It won points against better teams like Spurs, Villa or Brighton (home) teams that really try to play football at first, but also prevented good results like Palace or Luton at home.

Will be big job in summer to bring in pace and creativity on a marginal budget.

It's really embarrassing watching isn't it?

We have a great goalkeeper and pair of centre halves, and that's it. Those three could go into any team in the division.

But apart from that? We have full backs that completely lack ability to get forward, wingers that can't run, and midfielders that can barely pass the ball. Then there are two strikers that must be amongst the very worst in the league - you'd surely trade either of them for a Jordan Ayew, a Danny Ings or a Chris Wood.

The manager is not doing his job as braindead players continue to make abysmal decisions around the penalty area; Onana attempting to smash a bouncing ball from 25 yards with his left foot, Gomes who can't even score with his right foot attempting 20-yarders with his left, Gueye whenever he plays ballooning shots over at least once a game, etc.

There is no pace - anywhere. Wingers can't link up with full backs, full backs cannot overlap, whenever the ball is in possession in the final third the first two touches are usually to kill the ball then play it back.

So even with three fantastic defensive players, we are still continuing to lose games at home against crap teams that barely threaten us all game.

Why on earth was Gomes last man when he can't even run? Why was Dobbin put on after 93 minutes at 2-1 when McNeil had been an embarrassment all game? How did Harrison make it to 80 minutes?

Next game, Seamus has to start and I'd be starting both Young and Dobbin for the next month if they can remain fresh - those two McNeil and Harrison deserve to be nowhere near the side.

Didn’t manage to watch the game so had to make do with MOTD this morning.

Finally get a penalty and Beto fluffs it. Not burying solid chances from a few yards out. It’s just pathetic at this point, some of those players really need to step up because they’re letting us and manager down week after week.

Dyche will waste the whole budget on Harrison and a left footed CB to play left back and put Myko on the bench

According to statistics website whoscored.com, the performance of West Ham's Alphonse Areola (9.74) was the highest by a Premier League goalkeeper this season.

In fact, the top three rankings for performances by keepers this season have also come against Everton, with Wolves' Jose Sa (9.42) and Fulham's Bernd Leno (9.11) just behind Areola.

We also seem to be out of luck….

Hard times to be a blue

22 big chances missed in 7 games is barely believable at this level.

We just make the easiest of chances look and feel completely unnatural. A good player is already celebrating as he smashes it into the goal, knowing he's scored before the ball has left his foot. Our players make it look like the most difficult thing in the world. Nervous. Scuffs. No energy, power or conviction. You can see it written all over their faces. No belief.

Perfect synopsis. It's rinse and repeat. I do think all good teams have a baseline of decent full backs - and when Myko plays like he did yesterday - with Godfrey who cannot kick a ball straight or jump for headers it is a complete breakdown of any attacking threat. Can't wait for Seamus to return.

We had a lot of chances to win that but there’s a few on this team who are notorious for killing any sort of momentum when we show a threat. Harrison, Onana to name a couple. I’d start someone in Harrison’s place next time around. Not sure if it will make a difference but he hasn’t done anything to prove he deserves to start.
Fair comment, despite 3 goals I think defence has coped well. But does he have the knowledge of midfield and attack. Before came back well fro. The penalty miss then was subbed, its gonna be a long 3 months
