Buying a new laptop.

The words "gaming" and "laptop" don't go together for more than a year at the pricepoint you're looking at and gaming laptops aren't really laptops if they can game, they're desktop replacements that start to make portability an afterthought because of the power draw. My suggestion, build your own PC.

If your gaming only consists of FM then save money and lower your pricepoint and throw in a handheld gaming device (PSP, 3DS etc) because my 7 year old Vaio can still run FM11 as that's more about number crunching than graphics prowess. But that's just me and I'm more than a bit retarded, like...

Come to your senses and get something with an Apple on it (y)

You could get banned for saying something like that on this board.

Unless you play games or need some hard core graphics processing for work or something get something in the $300-500 range. Anything over $600 isn't really worth it.

HP laptops are fine as long as you look after them. My 6735s has been a beast the last few years. They can run hot, but a regular clean with canned air and it should last ages. Not having it on the bed every night while you have a craft wank helps too, you won't be the only thing overheating.

I'm still donating it to the mrs soon though. Must.... resist.... sparkly.... Alienware... sh*te.

Evidently I have not looked after this laptop well at all.

Wanking on the bed? Guilty as charged your honour.
