6 + 2 Point Deductions

Defo not 2m, anything from 4m to 9.3m it seems.
That 50 (1) line is quite shocking.

Especially because our owner is a freakin' qualified charted accountant.

I know that there is some rule that you can capitalize all of your start up expenses relating to property, plant and equipment including interest on loans in the early phases. Then it doesn't hit your bottom line.

We are dealing with state supported / Billionaire owners. Fines would not deter them. Should have been a transfer ban
That’s the one thing that the IC got right in relation to sanctions when they said that.

I can see the attraction with a transfer ban but when we had ours it actually worked to our advantage . So more that the new squad ratio is adjusted as part of the equation

It might have to be a combination of a couple of things one of which attracts me is the sanction for proven breach would be moving down the league by one position then for every £5 million over a reduction of 1% million off the % allowable for the squad cost

IF we had done that, its possible that they might have been able to turn a blind eye to the rest of the other very minor breaches.

But I feel as tho that line from Moshiri about midfield has shaped this whole thing.

They warned us, they told us we were close to a breach, but we said "Nar bruv, you are wrong, we need more players lad".

A transfer ban for a club like Chelsea who had at least 40 players on its books at the time was pointless.

A transfer ban for Everton who have 16 players on its books come July would be nuclear.

It's 100% has, Moshiri and his big mouth again, and not for the first time either. I have always thought that there had to be a better, more professional approach to the whole "we need a new midfield" thing. We had had a warning about being close (as you said) Maybe if we had agreed to a spend limit or something but no, no Bill and Farhad knew best.

The nature of the interest doesn’t change. It was still internally financed and likely the PL would have added it back to the calculation whether they capitalized it or not.

What I feel is that no one thought a points deduction would come from a relatively small breach, and those people were wrong.

Having said all that, the more we learn about this process, the more incompetent the PL looks.

The PLs incompetence is vastly overshadowed by Evertons for me.
