Given the Manhattan Beach vs Liverpool debate - come on. it's not like he'd have to sell his place on the beach and retire in liverpool.

We're talking about spending most of the year for the next 2-4 years in england, spending your summers at the beach, and then when you are ready for a swansong in the MLS, you come on back to LA.

I really hope he gives it strong consideration. My fear is that i know the MLS (and Donovan as the posterboy) are both intent on breaking the stereotype that the MLS is simply a league for people AFTER they retire from european football. unfortunately, i expect he will end up using his own career to "prove" that to the world. The success he, keane, and henry are having right now helps prove that as well, but even so, i think we are still another 5-10 years before most people take that notion seriously (just because of the money of the contracts and the environment for fans, etc).

I actually wish donovan were more selfish and not the constant "ambassador" that he is where his decisions are watched to this level - as if that were the case, then i think he would stay...

Getting mixed messages above regarding LD's options. Looks like he's off anyway until we hear any different. It's a shame because he's well liked here and fits in very well. And there's a beach in Formby complete with golf courses isn't there ?

Good performance again today; always felt that Moyes was going to play him in every minute of every available game, and that has proved to be the case so far. Great assist for the goal.

Concur. Manhattan Beach is AMAZING, but so is the EPL. He should make his mark on it while he still can.

I have a friend here from Liverpool, her family are all blues...she is a red. ugh. But i digress, that is the EXACT same description she gave of liverpool girls.

Its true mate. I love them a great deal, they're strong loyal ladies and wonderful company but an absolute nightmare to date. And orange. And with very prominent eyebrows.
