In @davek defence he does get skinned very easily. Wouldn’t trust him as a RB, but as a wing back it makes sense.

He’s very lucky we have solid centre backs cause he gets done and commits way too often.
Agreed! I don't want @davek in defence either. He does get skinned easily. He can't trust an ex-Rangers RB because he'd prefer the wings on his back were made in some catholic sweat shop, solidly placed in the centre of his back where he can commit himself to the right side of the same wrong thing.
Makes sense alright ;)

Just putting it out there when you druel over a man/half man who earns in a week what you earn in about ten years but get a bollocking off your boss (in my unfortunate case my dad) who's been a [Poor language removed] and is on this forum (hope he has lost his ability to read) You really shouldn't moan because especially in my pissed up position there is always someone worse off (please feel sorry for me) davek says so

Tbf natural blue blood is a celt in fairness, majority of us are and I back Celtic from afar (without much bitterness).

He’s alright but he wouldn’t start at RB for 15/20 PL clubs probs.

Compared to Ashley Young he is pure class mate - he would have got skinned today early doors in that game....

Joey if you’re being completely honest, minus the derby and penalty against Utd, Young has been actually very decent. I’d trust him more in a 1v1 than Patterson.

I do think Patterson is a pretty good wing back, but he would be a constant liability as RB in a back four in this system.

Great ball on the DCL header.

Was ok otherwise. Not a performance that keeps a healthy Coleman out of the side.

Did you watch that game mate?

He got away with it in that first half with a bit of daft play then had pretty much nothing to do.

As said umpteen times: put this lad in a back four rather than the safety net of a back five with a right sided CB coming across to help out and we'll be in a world of trouble.
You may well be right Dave, but, a rather smaller world of trouble than the one in which we find ourselves when Young is at right back.

Wrong he has cost us points - v Luton at home trapping the ball on his goal line & kicking it on to the incoming player - I reckon he's cost us 9 points- booked alot too his 38 years make him only a bench warmer imo -
The only decent game he has had is on the wing out of harms way - a bad signing imo .....

Not having the Luton game Joey. Mykolenko and midfield was as much to blame for that.

The problem here, if there’s a debate over who’s better between Patterson and 38-year old Young (and even Coleman) then he isn’t as good as some want to think he is.

He did ok some good some bad I feel his willingness to get the ball and get forward hampers his defensive duties in that he gets caught in 2 minds whether to press the man and win the ball or stay behind the ball and jockey. I like the attack mindedness but feel he would benefit focusing on defence first then attack either way I’m sure getting minutes will benefit him a lot, definitely deserves more minutes.

Just putting out Youngs stats in 15 appearances. He may be allright for large parts but he has been a liability for us.

Errors leading to goal - 2
Own goals - 1
Red cards - 1
Penalties conceded - 1

Patterson may have some flaws currently, but hasn’t caused any damage like that.
