6 + 2 Point Deductions

My thinking is that if we lost 124.5 millions for a period of 3 years before last, I guess that we are still losing money, perhaps not as much this year but for sure last year with an excessive wage bill. That's why that unless we have lost less than 20 millions last year (after the deductables including the stadium), something that not sure it is likely, we will be in the red again. I guess we will find out very quickly as accounts should be submitted by now so not sure when and if those will be available publicly before PL review them.
But in the year 21/22 we made a loss of 44.7m. - https://www.evertonfc.com/news/3127...the Club, significant fall in broadcast income.

This is a considerable improvement on the previous year of 140m.

However the above article implies that this was in part due to the stadium?

if thats the case then surely losses of these amounts (and the last financial year when they are published) will mean we are very likely to be fine this time around with FFP???

Inappropriate Behaviour
For politely offering a different viewpoint? Suggest you put some sugar on your cornflakes mate and give your kid a cuddle. This sort of hatred is bad for you. Yes of course it's legitimate to think the Premier league were harsh with us but we put ourselves in the dock with our own stupid corporate management. It's only corrupt if others are not punished similarly for comparable offences.
Showing your Kopite leanings here my pinkie chum, your just desperate for city to be hammered in a similar fashion to us aren’t you?

You don’t give a flying Fuchs about Everton - no Evertonian I know links the corruption that is rampant and clearly evident within the premier league to how other clubs need to be punished for alleged P&S failings, but that’s all the kopites have been tugging off over since we got shafted.

“Can’t wait to see what they do to city, give us the league titles they’ve stolen and relegate them!” You stink of it mate.

Your mask continues to slip, so keep my clubs name out your filthy kopite mouth in future.

You got knowledge of us overspending again then ? If so please show your working out.

As others have said we have sold Richarlison and Gordon without any spend along with others such as Ellis Simms to ensure there wouldn’t be a repeat.

So if there is any evidence that we have broke the rules again please state them
I am not worrying about this season...Simms was sold 23 24 season by the way and richy the season before last. Last season it's the wages really, not so much what we did not spend in transfers.

So why do you believe we have overspent on wages ?

Are there any firm reports or you have some sort of evidence ?

Reports on I’ve read state were okay

Regarding the interest in accounts. Isn't it really up to the inland revenue to decide what is and isnt allowed? I'm think our bean counters got the interest ok'd but the IC see it differently

nah, it seems to be two different things, If we had broken tax laws, the IR would indeed be all over us but it seems that we have broken the rules of a what is essentially a privately run club. Not surprising either when those rules are changed on a whim mid process to our detriment.

The owners are the club. It's a business whether we like it or not. The Premier league isn't some egalitarian olympiad and to suggest it is, or even it should be, is beyond naive given the Saudis and Abu Dhabis involvement - never mind the carcinogenic American owners in the league.

We broke the rules. It's all in the report. The only issue for me is it seems harsh but that's relative and entirely unproven until others are in the Dock.
Can't a business spend whatever the owner wants to become a successful business, has Bill Gates ever been told not to spend in order to make Microsoft more successful? Or have Toshiba been told you can't spend as much as HP because you don't make as big an income as them...
A football club is a bit more complicated than just saying it's a business there is clearly anti competition rules in place disguised as fair play..

Your rules would be great mate. I get it. But, all that would happen if there are no rules is that every super rich owner would just go and buy every amazing player. I think the 105m is low, mad to say, but I don’t think you should just be allowed to spend what you want. Nobody would ever want to go and play for a team which doesn’t have a luxury feel about it, such as a Burnley. I never want to see a club go bust such as Bury as ultimately the cliche is correct. It’s the fans that suffer.

I agree on Branthwaite. I do think that Tarks has played a massive role in helping this kid shine in the team. His experience know how and reliability have been a massive bonus to have alongside Jarrad. Our Central Defence though limited in numbers is like a fortress
My take on it is both Jared and Tarks should be in the England team, probably starting.

I'm not going to be going into that level of detail. I don't share their view, but people who work in law feel we will get our points back. The clubs defence at the last one was shambolic.
I'm struggling with that post Catcher.

I'm a qualified lawyer , does that give me a "qualified opinion " because believe me I have no more insight into the outcome of our appeal than you or even davek.

As for "the clubs defence at the last one was shambolic" , please explain. Does this opinion come from someone who was present at the hearing and if so how are they qualified to comment?

I know that a respected firm Pinsetts was retained by Everton and they instructed a KC. I've no idea what the silk was like and of course there are always differences in quality even at that level but the notion that we were represented by someone akin to a trainee solicitor is nonsense.

I look forward to your further information.
