We all knew it would happen though, not shocking.

Shocking is 10 points for next to nothing compared to half the Prem, but it was known that we're a big enough target for it to feel like it matters, while being a minuscule target in terms of marketability so that the Prem loses essentially nothing.

You have to wonder whether there’s gamesmanship going on. Leak a rumour of a 12 point deduction. Impose a 10 deduction. Everton appeal, they reduce it to 6. And we all get to feel grateful for such leniency.

I just don't understand why it feels so incredibly heavy handed? I expected a points deduction but the amount they have taken off just seems genuinely insane to me.

It’s enough to pull in tv viewers for a relegation battle. They knew that 3 points doesn’t affect us this season so they hit us with the exact amount that would put us right back in the mess.

Imagine if we're 'x' points away from safety at the end of the season and then the appeal reduces the point deduction by 'x' points and we stay up and someone else goes down.
