TV Series

Maybe cos I've not seen rebels, but I'm watching Ahsoka with the kids, and bar ep 4, nothing has really happened. Maybe if I'd seen more of the EU, then it'd be fun to see them connect different stories, but as a standalone watch, it's very slow, with practically no tension. Am I missing something?

The Baylan character seems to be the most interesting thing about it so far.
The first few episodes was a bit of fan service to fans of rebels while also trying to introduce characters to a new audience in my view. Which is a difficult balance when they are already established for lots of viewers.

I think it has picked up and I’m hopeful the last 2 episodes are going to be full of action now they have introduced everyone.

Baylan has been an excellent addition.

Just finished Black Snow (iPlayer) and was pretty impressed by it. Aussie crime drama with a detective investigating a 25 year old cold case when new evidence comes to light. Only 6 episodes so doesn't feel drawn out. Ragnar from Vikings is the detective. Worth a watch anyway.

Hearing very mixed reviews on the new series of Sex Education.
Thought it was fine but definitely the weakest series of them all. There was just too much going on and everyone is basically having a rubbish time. I know therapy is a theme of the show but previously they have approached it with somewhat or a levity. This series it just felt a bit heavier which isn't really what I am looking for with Sex Education. Also Otis is especially mopey and whiney in this season which grates quite quickly. As usual Eric is the star of the show. Might have to watch Dr Who for the first time when he starts on that.

Only watched the first episode so far. Was always going to be difficult to compare to the first 3 series with it being a new school, lots of new characters and the two main protagonists, Otis and Maeve, being on opposite sides of the Atlantic. Still worth watching for Eric though. We could all do with a bit of Eric pumped through our veins.

It’s too “clean” compared to early series. And I mean that in the way it’s now filmed and the cameras they use.

Still some hilarious moments, but it just doesn’t land the same as it used to. But they are around 40 years old now and it’s not going to be the same as a bunch of 25 year olds doing stupid stuff.
It reminds of Red Dwarf in that way. Went from quite grungy looking to modern and lost some of its edge

Finished the first two seasons of the terribly-titled 'From'. A really interesting sci-fi/horror/mystery show, very much in the same vein of Lost - possibly a little less exciting (although that's probably due to the much lower budget). Third series is on the way too, looking forward to it.

*not quite as scary as the trailer suggests

They’re going to have to do a reveal soon or people will lose interest.

Top Boy final season The way Jax just turned into a completely different person ruined it for me but at least they killed the irritating sister off. I was also disappointed that Stef wasn't the one who killed Sully. Felt like the irish storyline was pointless and really wasted young Barry Keoghan

I agree with @COYBL25 that it felt a bit rushed, it was a bit of a waste of time really. They could have just made the last season longer and split it into two or something
