The lack of creativity in the midfield is absolutely killing us, no technical ability whatsoever.

So poor with the ball that it’s putting our defence under constant pressure after we conceded possession time after time.

Strikers feeding off scraps.
Wingers frightful to commit to going forward because Gueye, Doucoure and Onana have about as much chance of finding a pass as Stevie Wonder.

It’s a really poor squad in terms of quality. I don’t envy any of the coaching team trying to find any possible way of getting this team to put in any sort of quality performance.

We don’t have players to play through midfield.
Is the answer DCL and Beto upfront, push the wingers further up to provide an option and get up the pitch to try and feed the big lads upfront - they are clearly exceptional in the air and McNeil and Harrison can provide moments of decent deliveries / wing play.
Leave the boys in the centre to work hard and provide cover and solidity?

Back 4 and Pickford do a decent job at what they are suppose to do. Going to be a long season!

Like it or not, he was the only player who could carry the ball forward.

I cant even go there with this iwobi sh!t. Every player on these forums "was missed today" when we lose.
He wouldnt have made a jot of difference today. Just like he didnt in all his years here. He was part of the dross as much as the dross we still have here.

As someone who grew up on Steven-Reid-Bracewell-Sheedy, this lot, although triers, offer pretty much nothing in the final third.

Onana seems to disappear more and more as the game goes on. As a unit they're one of the least effective midfields I've seen play for the club.

What midfield? They barely strung 3 passes together.
The only hope is to go long snd bypass the midfield and play Beto and DCl upfront . Harrison and McNeil on the wings.
Get the ball into thre box, play for set pieces corners and long throws and get the midfield to try and win the second ball.

No creativity in the midfield, Onana? All of the hype he’s pretty average, not one of them has got a forward pass in them.

So "theres no creativity" is there? Plus Onana is "average" i see.

Yet hes the one who has been creating changes where goals are expected (big chances) and statistically probable.

He's had an off game and another against Villa. He's 21 expected to dominate games alongside Gana and Doucoure. No one could achieve that.

Onana as the anchor is absolutely fine.

Now fix the 2 ahead of him.

Think the answer is Danjuma central and someone next to Onana in the double pivot.

Pick your poison because Doucoure and Gana are both poo.

Doucoure and Gueye are done should have binned them off to Saudi.

I'd put McNeil, Onana and Garner in the middle.

Danjuma isn't a Dyche player but we need some flair and pace. Hopefully Harrison will come in and level us out.

Has to be Garner + Onana together. It defies logic to setup any other way.

Doucure is killing us as the “10”, and I will never understand why Gana is playing higher up the pitch than Onana, and is always in space on the edge of the box and is the one shooting from 30odd yards into the roof of the stands?!

How is Garner sat on his arse while those three are polluting the pitch?!

Garner is a lot better in people’s heads than he is on the pitch unfortunately. I like him aswell but he really isn’t that good he’s just a steady all round footballer.

He may well be a good all rounder who can give 6/10 performances every week. Thats better than Gana giving 3 or 4/10 each game.

Try watching Onana against Fulham and Sheffield Utd...or catch him for Belgium.

Garner for Forest on loan showed an array of skills which are being underused (not used) with Dyche.

Was banging the drum all summer that I was happy with our midfield but it just is not working. Whether that's the manager, the players just not complimenting each other or both I don't know.
