Yeah I agree with this point that if we do pay anything an extension or an option to extend at the end of the season need to happen alongside otherwise we are just throwing money down the drain.

But bear in mind also the first 10m is just the first payment not the total so we’d need to pay more after more appearances. There’s really no way we can do it without renegotiating with Spurs.

I would imagine that the deal with spurs ends at the end of his current contract. So if we paid £10m after his 7th appearance, we would have like another 20apps after that. So we would get most of this season out of him for 10m.

If he plays well in the 6 matches and looks better than what we have currently, then 10m would be a small price if we manage to stay up.
